Karry Best movie of this year hands down!
GamerTab That was an excellent one.
Pluskylang Great Film overall
Ketrivie It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.
Cee Jay I signed up just to review this movie! I haven't seen a more touching film in my entire life. I'm usually one of those obnoxious people who will laugh at anyone who cries in a movie. Especially during sad movies. The Notebook did nothing for me. But this movie has everything - lost love, trying to help your parents - it has all of the criteria for a nice, family film. I cried like a baby at some parts, without even knowing. And I cry every time I see it. The actors play their roles so genuinely. If you're in it for watching a nice, feel good film, this is the right one for you. It has a happy ending, heartbreak, and it has emotion for you to play on. The music is fun after you get used to it, and if music isn't your thing, fast forward the songs. The best part is that the random comedy scenes all relate to one another, and you can point out hints at the lead pair's past through them. The chemistry between the two lead actors is beautiful. The sad moments are painful because, yes, I can see this happening in any ordinary household. It's not some fancy, sad movie about a couple who are tragically destined to die together. And that makes it all the more real.So to finish myself off, definitely watch. You'll enjoy it, even in subtitle form.
ramzan-mohammed851 A big box office hit and a massive fan base cant hide the fact that this is another shameful stolen script from Hollywood, films like this can merely claim originality, how ironic that audiences fail to recognise that this was a direct copy of SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL, even the dialogues were not spared from being copied, the film consists poor performances, mainly OTT by the entire cast.... another stolen runaway hit from bollywood, with another imitating performance from SRK, this poor actor has copied and stolen other artist performances threw out his career from BAZIGGAR to is latest HAPPY NEW YEAR,...ITS POOR POOR SHAME, Indian cinema should try its own constructive work , it has been missing for the last 4 decades, shame on you all..!!!!!
sredsha This is the movie that introduced me to the wonderful world of Indian Cinema.I was 10 years old when I first saw Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and I instantly fell in love with it. I have since lost count of the number of times that I have watched it.This was director Karan Johar's debut movie. Talk about starting of with a bang. This movie is perfection. It lives up to it's tag line. They'll make you laugh..They'll make you cry...They'll even make you fall in love. It made me do all of these things. The songs are wonderful. The acting was fantastic. I love Kajol in this movie. She steals the show. I heard that Twinkle Khanna was actually considered as the first choice to play Anjali. That would have been the biggest mistake as I can't envision anyone else playing the role of Anjali besides Kajol.Shah Rukh Khan was also good. He was less irritating back then. His performance actually had some soul behind it. Rani was the perfect choice for Tina.Looking back at this movie now the only aspect that seems a bit redundant is the choreography. But you can't blame Farah Khan as things like dance moves revolutionizes with time.On a whole this is a beautiful piece of cinema and all I can say to Karan Johar and his entire cast and crew is thank. Thank you for making Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and giving me and the world one of the greatest stories ever told.
Kevin Rubin This is a fun movie. It was especially fun since I hadn't seen it in over ten years, remembering the outcome, but not all the details.Shahrukh Khan stars as Rahul, and it opens with his wife, Tina (played by Rani Mukerji) giving birth to their daughter and dying of complications, and her last wish that their daughter be named Anjali. It's a bit melodramatic, and maybe not very believable, but they need it for the story…Jump ahead eight years to Anjali's 8th birthday, in which she receives the 8th and last annual letter from her deceased mother. This letter describes how she and Rahul met in college, and about Rahul's best friend… Anjali…It tells how Tina feels she came between Rahul and Anjali, and sends their daughter, Anjali, on a mission to find her namesake and get the best friends back in love again…Shahrukh and Kajol, as Anjali, weren't very convincing as college students, they looked too grown up, yet acted too immature. Kajol was much more convincing as the tomboy trying to become more feminine once the third part of the love triangle came into the story…The music in it is good, great songs to listen to outside the movie, but the dancing to them in the movie was kind of dull, uninspired and the costumes during them were fairly bland. Still, overall, it's a great Bollywood movie. Unlike most it focuses more on the love story, with a bit of comedy thrown in, without trying to mix-n-match bad action and violence. Definitely recommended!
