robert23-1 I completely agree with the current rating. Although this movie was made 15 years' ago, the themes presented are prevalent today. The young actor Uriah Shelton(Henry), one of the most talented actor/singers I have ever seen, is absolutely superb. His acting & singing were outstanding. Many scenes with the dad brought tears to my eyes. The chemistry between Dash Mikok and Uriah was amazing & a credit to the casting department. Although the performances of the supporting cast were commendable for the most part, it's the performance of Uriah Shelton(Henry) that makes this movie a must see!! Quite sure his career in Hollywood has been most successful & will no doubt continue for many years to come. Robert Thompson, Victoria, B.C. Canada

frenchfry-17947 This movie has a target: the Fox watching, ghost-believing conservative American. Unless you are not in their target market, be ready for over an hour of awful acting, predictable plot with sprinkles of American Idol, Reuben Studdard included. All the stereotypes are there, from the pastor jump-starting the career of the little Christian boy to the ghost of the kid's dad in fatigues, with the three judges including the rude one, the comedian (a rip-off, quieter version of Larry the cable guy) and the one in the middle. The reason why I grade it a 2 and not a 1? No Kirk Cameron or Kirk Cameron nonsense. There are better ghost/feel good movies out there, much worst movies as well, but unless you are hoping for a movie like that, you will be sorely disappointed for that waste of time.

mookie59 This movie is about a little boy who's Dad has to deploy overseas. While he is gone things happen to make life even harder than just missing his Dad. It opened my eyes to how difficult life is for those at home. We often salute the soldiers but the families left behind are heroes as well. Fortunately, some strong men step up to help out. This movie is clean as well. A nice family movie that I would enjoy for a good movie night. Of course the soundtrack is outstanding! I also was pleased to see Trace Adkins show up. He is always supportive of our Troops.You will be proud of our soldiers and their families in this movie. Don't forget to grab your Kleenex.

Phyllis Kusi LIFTED is such an amazing film! It takes ordinary characters and tells an extraordinary story with laughter, lyrics, tears and ultimate joy!Uriah Shelton is a cool kid with awesome talent. He is surrounded by a supportive cast who help make his light shine even brighter. He overcomes adversity and embraces his passion. Dash Mihok makes you laugh, cry and beam with pride in his role. I ordered the Netflix DVD to watch before July 4 fireworks to instill the patriotic element of the holiday. We kept the DVD for weeks because it brought us wholesome entertainment and inspiration. LIFTED is a must-see film for families (ages 10 and up) not just for patriotic holidays. This film is good to watch any time of year.
