Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

The movie is made so realistic it has a lot of that WoW feeling at the right moments and never tooo over the top. the suspense is done so well and the emotion is felt. Very well put together with the music and all.

I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.

I remember watching this movie years ago, and I will come right out and summarize what one can expect... Pro: The story-line is surprisingly good. Con: Nearly everything else is bad, acting, scenery(of lack of), effects, costumes etc.I also take it the demon Lo was made up since there is no source to be found on an entity that goes by that name. Watching this is when you do not not expect anything in the slightest and just have some time to kill; when you set yourself up for a huge disappointment is when you will be somewhat amused/ in awe. This movie by the way does come off somewhat amateurish and I wonder of they even had a budget to begin or start with.

"Lo" is a film that sat in my Netflix queue for a long time. I'm kicking myself for procrastinating; I should've watched it much sooner. The plot is simple. This was a plus for me -- I'm exhausted of blockbusters that shoehorn extraneous sub-plots to pad the running time. The story unfolds at a steady pace, although I do agree with other reviewers that it may have overextended its reach by trying to hit the 80 minute mark. There are a few moments where the acting comes off as cheesy, but stick with it. The conclusion is well worth the investment.Don't be put off by its low budget. The makeup effects are outstanding, visceral and often disgusting. There's tremendous attention to detail, particularly with April towards the end. Its setup is very much that of a stage production, and leaves much of the backdrop up to the viewer's imagination."Lo" benefits from a repeat performance. Dialogue that reads amusing the first time through becomes tragic on a second viewing. Birkett's performance as the titular character is especially powerful.Scott Glasgow's score is fantastic, and I wish I could find somewhere to purchase it. The ending credits theme, "Ghost Patrol" by Rondo Brothers is both catchy and haunting. This is the first I've seen from Drexel Box and I'm eager for more of Betz' work.tl;dr go watch. It deserves your time.

I really liked this movie, but I could not stop thinking OMG XANDER AND ANYA from Buffy. The campy demon music reminds me of "Once More With Feeling". IMHO Justin kind of looked like Xander...and yes I am the coolest person ever.....And the talking hand reminded me of Vampire Hunter D. ANYWAY...I did also really enjoy the low-budget, small production stage feel. Smaller budget movies sometimes blow their load on a couple crappy special effects gimmicks and it diminishes the rest of the movie. It was a quirky, funny, bittersweet and satisfying movie. I will definitely be watching it again.

This one surprised me. . .I call this a 'Profane Comedy' as a counterpoint to what we know as 'Divine Comedy'. I was expecting a low budget slapstick horror romp: Boyfriend loses Girl to a Demon and then summons a demon to get her back-- but the tagline is that "the Demon has Other Ideas" Then the movie started. Then I saw that it was actually a PLAY. And I normally don't like Plays. But I didn't hit the BACK button and remove it from my Netflix Queue. Why? The acting wasn't stilted or boring, and the dialogue was pretty 'with it'.Now the humor is there, but it's light humor. And the Humor is light because it covers a deeper dramatic question. Some of it was strained and reaching. Other parts were nicely comedic. And the reason the structure of the sets seems so. . .staged. . .is because the focus is NOT about the HORROR about dealings with Demons. It's a play about Dealing with Demons. And the ending was, from a Guyz perspective. . .disturbingly touching.Girlfriend Friendly movie-- and a Girlfriend Test. If she fails: Dump her.
