Synopsis

Animated short, created for DVD and viral, for Python Pictures. Doubtless Spite Your Face Production's most viewed film, thanks to its place on the Holy Grail DVD, but also via countless broadcast appearances worldwide. She's also been featured on a number of magazine discs and in the days before YouTube, could be found at the very top of the charts on Yahoo Movies, iFilm, Atom Films and Veoh. Today it continues to spread of its own accord, inspiring imitators and even sequels.

Reviews

Ploydsge just watch it!
SanEat A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
Casey Duggan It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny
Guillelmina The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
Horst in Translation (filmreviews@web.de) "Monty Python & the Holy Grail in Lego" is a brief animated short film from 2001 long before the recent rise in popularity of Lego animation, so you could say that directors Drage and Mines were ahead of their time, even if they never managed to make it big in the last 15 years and this is still a contender for their most known career effort. Apart from the fact that this film here runs for 90 seconds only, slightly over to be exact, and that I think it is really impossible to fit the full feature it parodies into this minimal runtime, I also have some personal issues with it. I have never been big on Lego animation style or Monty Python, so my personal bias may have a bit to do with how I rate this and actually taking that into account, the rating is maybe even higher than expected as I stated in the title of my review too. If you like Monty Python and Lego animation more than I do, then maybe you will quite enjoy this one. Like Terry Gilliam apparently did. As with the real M.P. stuff, there is lots of singing here too. So yeah, I'd only recommend it to those who really love The Holy Grail, the film this spoofs. If you don't, then skip it.
mirosuionitsaki2 Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a film enjoyed by many. It's British humor may be confusing to some Americans, but to some Americans like myself, I understand and I'm amused at the witty jokes that are in this film. While Monty Python's other films may be the center of parodies, there is only one parody that I know of that I found in Monty Python and the Holy Grail's Special Edition two disc set. This so called parody might actually just be a self parody from the creators. What am I talking about? Look in the title. The parody is completely done in Legos. Might have taken only a day to create because it's a two minute lego video. In this short video, characters made of legos sing the song "Camelot". Of course, it's done in Legos. The title wouldn't lie, would it? It's from a big motion picture studio! Anyways, I thought this was pretty interesting. It wasn't very amusing. It wasn't very entertaining, either. I didn't really care for this video. The reason for it's rather large or high score on IMDb is for the reason of it's cleverness. It's just really clever to do something that stupid but unusually good.Although, you may find this all over the Internet, mostly for it's short length and the technology of DVD ripping, you can do any way to watch this video. But, I wouldn't recommend it. It's just a really pointless video to watch.
Popeye-8 A remarkable homage/parody of the "Camelot" song and dance from the "Holy Grail" motion picture. Essentially, the scene is totally redone with LEGO figures and blocks, but is true to the movie--which is why it is so hilarious. I look forward to a LEGO CASABLANCA, or a LEGO parting of the Red Sea from TEN COMMANDMENTS!
NemoNint Well here is a film that was included on the Monty Python and the Holy Grail DVD. It was made with lego and some sort of animation kit thing available from lego.com. I had seen this little video online before I saw it on the dvd but it's extra fun on the dvd I guess just because I can see it on my large TV in sharp clarity. It's a lego animation of the approach to Camelot, and the following song, and then King Arthur's final thoughts of Camelot. I made a few lego animations when I was a child with my dad's video camera and lego people, I wish I had my films recognized! Ah well, at least one lego video has made it to international dvd release. Heh heh heh. Maybe more will follow! Hurrah at the thought of that!I like it. It's pure fun.
