Synopsis

The story begins on a small spaceship docking with a refueling station. On board are a group of four aliens, Bernard, Sandra, Desmond, and Julian. During a particularly tedious period of their stay at the station, the other three begin playing with the ship’s controls while Bernard is outside playing spaceball. They accidentally disconnect his part of the ship, leaving him stranded while they crash into a large blue planet close by...

Blucher One of the worst movies I've ever seen
Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.
TeenzTen An action-packed slog
Winifred The movie is made so realistic it has a lot of that WoW feeling at the right moments and never tooo over the top. the suspense is done so well and the emotion is felt. Very well put together with the music and all.
Bezenby I remember watching this one when it was released, what with Alas Smith and Jones being a fairly popular sketch show at the time, and my feelings now are as they were then: This film is kind of okay, but by no stretch of the imagination any good either. It doesn't even feel much like a Smith and Jones film for some reason. The Tall Guy had more of that vibe. This one has pre-Universal popularity Jimmy Nail as one of three stupid aliens that end up on Earth and become popular even though, as the titles reveals, they're from space. And Mormons or whatever else the title says.Mel on the other hand is the other alien that ends up on the other side of the world trying to get to his mates. Most of the genuine laughs come from Mel's side, what with the space suit sneezing and the Ken Kesey homage. Jones is kind of wasted in an Ernie Wise type role. Jimmy Nail is quite good (as he was in the eighties) as the alcoholic alien. The others involved are very 'Ealing' in their approach, which isn't funny at all. It's up to you. I only write these reviews so I can keep track of what I watch.
Rainey Dawn This is simply and unfunny film to me. I didn't even get a slight giggle out of what I saw in the beginning... so I fast-forwarded, played & watched, fast-forwarded again and didn't find anything to capture my interest at all and never did I laugh nor did I give a slight giggle.I like quite a few nonsensical, stupid comedies but this film just didn't do it for me. I also have enjoyed quite a number of British comedies from TV shows to movies but this film is just lame to me. Morons in Outer Space is an appropriate title for the film but they are unfunny morons. The film isn't completely 100% trash that's why I'm giving it 2 stars out of 10 instead of rating it with a 1 star but it's not a good film to me.2/10
cmperry-2 This showed up late last night on the Space Channel in Canada. A one-joke premise that didn't get much beyond the one joke: a few quotidian slams at "the establishment," American stereotypes and so on. Given the effort that must have gone into settings, costumes and situations, it definitely could have used a "script doctor." A few funny moments, a few good pop-culture in-jokes, such as the One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and Close Encounters references, but it all never really paid off. Even for an absurdist parody, there still needs to be a certain logic to the script, and that seemed to be lacking. There were characters and situations set up that seemed needless, and the story line jumped and jerked. I watched it mainly 'cause I saw Jimmy Nail was in it, and I was hoping there might be a little more sex, or at least sexy girls, as the TV content warning said "nudity" - which turned out to be a panicking naked guy in one quick shot. That said, I did feel for Bernard when his pals shunned him, and he was left stranded.
hypersonicmook I have absolutely no idea why this film is maligned so much, it is funny, it has atmosphere, character, charisma, and a lot of charm. The premise is wonderful, the actors are perfect, the jokes are funny and original. How about when Griff is escaping from somewhere and he hits the guard over the head to knock him out but it just hurts him? That is classic. Or when they are coming to lynch the aliens and one guy is twirling a noose? And then the same guy is chasing after and escaping truck and he breaks into song? Brilliant! The best joke is when Griff is wearing a stolen uniform and he slaps his hand over the name badge every time he meets someone to stop them discovering that it is stolen - everyone automatically assumes this is some kind of newly invented salute and responds by slapping their own hands over their breast, including a whole platoon of soldiers. It's funny, man! And the song, Tempt me Sideways, what an awesome song! This film is a classic!
