Synopsis

Mum and Dad, and their 'adopted' children, Birdie & Elbie, work at the airport. The family live off whatever they scavenge from cargo holds, offices and hotels - including a steady stream of transient workers who populate the airport's soulless hub. When Lena, a young Polish office cleaner, is befriended by Birdie, she gets drawn into a nightmarish world of torture, murder and perversity.

Harockerce What a beautiful movie!
Majorthebys Charming and brutal
Winifred The movie is made so realistic it has a lot of that WoW feeling at the right moments and never tooo over the top. the suspense is done so well and the emotion is felt. Very well put together with the music and all.
spakkker What a load of rubbish. So bad I turned it off - can't remember the last time I did that. Phony , unbelievable actors - of course not seen them since. This poor offering made Otis seem like a pure work of art. Dialogue was wooden and cheesy , the characters unreal , what a miserable waste of my time... so bad I had to warn others - my 2nd review
Scott LeBrun The grim & gritty atmosphere pervades this familiarly written story of madness and depravity. Writer / director Steven Sheil creates characters without much personality, telling a story that manages to be moderately creepy but never has much of a voice. It wraps itself up fairly quickly - it only runs 85 minutes - but Sheil generates little to no tension, which has to rate as one of the biggest problems. The movie is not going to be gory enough to suit many people, either. The acting is perfectly fine, if as colourless as the movie itself.Olga Fedori is featured as Lena, a Polish immigrant working on the janitorial staff at London's Heathrow airport. She makes the acquaintance of easygoing co-worker Birdie (Ainsley Howard), who offers her a place to stay when Lena misses the last bus that would have taken her home. However, soon after arriving at Birdie's place, Lena is knocked unconscious, and become the prisoner of Birdie's insane Mum and Dad (Dido Miles and Perry Benson). She's obliged to fill the role of "Mummy's Girl", warned that she had better learn her place in the household or suffer the consequences. When this short and sordid, intimate little tale is over, it unfortunately doesn't have a lot of resonance. It doesn't help that many of us have probably already seen similar movies over the years; "Mum & Dad" just doesn't bring much that's fresh to the party. It certainly isn't as shocking as one would like, even when Lena is exploring her environs and discovers the extent of the crimes of Mum & Dad. Fedori never does make Lena too likable a character; the one person who's more sympathetic is the unspeaking Elbie (Toby Alexander), another member of the adoptive "family".Sheil does cannily stress the nearness of the abode to the airport, filming planes in the air at every opportunity, but his ending is seriously underwhelming; again, a sense of deja vu dominates the proceedings. It's doubtful that even die hard genre lovers will find that much of value here.Five out of 10.
Mamfafa This film is pure excellence!! Sheil does a brilliant job and grabbing your attention and keeping it right from the beginning, and he shocks over and over! The best performance comes from Perry Benson as 'Dad'. He manages to convey the screwed up, twisted personality of Dad without breaking a sweat! Dad really is the star of the movie, especially with his interesting sexual antics! The narrative of Mum & Dad is just genius! It's like the British real-life version of the Hewitt family from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre". Th difference is you can actually imagine that somewhere around Gatwick is a twisted family like this! The Mum & Dad sadistically 'adopt' teenagers to make into their children, yet then use them as slaves to aid their murderous and thieving lifestyle. The juxtaposition of the upbeat Christmas soundtrack really highlights the twisted actions of the family, especially for the big climax ending! This really draws you in as an audience, and makes you will protagonist kidnapped Lena on to escape! But can anyone escape from Mum and Dan?! Even their friends aren't safe! An absolute MUST see! Better than any other horror film out there! Britain at it's best!
Matt Kracht I don't know about everyone else, but I'm getting a little tired of all these predictable, low budget horror movies that are flooding the market. I was hoping that this dysfunctional family/serial killer movie might be slightly different than the dozen that came before it, but, unfortunately, it's predictable as hell. The acting was alright, but the father was really miscast. He couldn't pull off menacing at all. I thought he was more of a dork than a scary psychopath. He did have a few good moments, though, which were very gross. I'm sure they'll stay with you for a while, after you watch the movie. Speaking of which, this movie kind of straddles the "torture porn" line during the middle, threatening to become some kind of British Hostel, but eventually abandons that and veers into black comedy. I thought the movie was quite uneven, never really knowing what it wanted to be. Luckily, the changes in tone are never jarring. Overall, the directing was alright, but there was almost no tension at all during the movie. Part of that could have been the fault of the actor playing the dad, though, because he was such a big doofus. If they'd gotten a better actor, this could have been a positively nightmarish movie. In the end, I'd have to recommend Parents or The People Under the Stairs, two much, much better movies instead of this one. While there's some pretty good special effects and loads more torture/gore in this movie, those had much better atmosphere and tension. I suppose that if you're looking for a predictable, gory movie with elements of black comedy, you could do much worse than this. The problem is that the filmmakers could have done much better.
