Baseshment I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
Megamind To all those who have watched it: I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do.
Kaelan Mccaffrey Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
deebadola My heart felt every second of this movie and finally become awe stack. the script and cinematography are awesome. The love, hate relationship of two childhood friends and the cruelty of war are manifested so properly. It is a awesome choice for war movie loving people.thumbs up the "MY WAY team".
Prashast Singh Movie: My Way (15)Rating: 5/5This film is seriously the most underrated South Korean film I've come across till now. There were reviews which criticized the film, but I went on to watch the film, as it also had a high IMDb rating and great reviews from audiences. I was totally lost in the film and got so immersed in it, that for a moment I felt like I was a part of the story. Seriously, MY WAY is the best war-action film I've come across till date. The technical aspects of the film are definitely mindblowing, but it's a tight scripting, intense emotions and powerhouse performances that make this film the best of its kind. The action sequences are mindblowing of course, and the way the combination of an excellent cinematography and breathtaking visuals has supported them is a treat to watch. The story is quite an excellent one, and I must say this film never bored me for a single second. Jang Dong-gun is excellent as he is in most of his films. Joe Odagiri too delivers an intense performance and it's difficult to choose who performs better among the two.Rest of the cast delivers memorable performances. The film is very well written and there aren't any noticeable flaws you'll be able to find. The climax is brilliant, and I felt various types of emotions while watching the film: sadness, happiness, anger. The film, in simple words, is one of the most powerful South Korean films in the recent years. MY WAY is a film you won't be able to forget once you have finished watching it. You'll miss it, and that's definitely a good sign.
Pripyat Black A This movie is far better than Saving Private Ryan (know as best war movie). This movie is like Unbroken but came out like 3-4 years before and with much more action. This movies shows the more details and points of view than any other war movie I've seen. This movies was so impressive that I actually did a review. After watching this movie (with 10 other people, who also liked it) it quickly became my favorite war film. The film is long and interesting.Good- detailed, interesting, good story, good acting, realistic, full of action, foreign languages are understandable if you speak them...ext..Bad-sometimes shaky action or hard to ell who is who, watched with subtitles since not in English. The bad of this movies can be ignored. I will watch it again. This movie is underrated mostly because it is foreign movie. If you are a real fan of ww2 movies and would watch with subtitles (unless you find an English version) then this should be your first choice.--- this movies inspired me to look for movie Korean movies.
moshtheboss After decades of being fed pretty much only British and American movies on world war 2, globalization is having a great effect on the movies concerning that era in human history. For the first decades after WW2, we in Western Europe, mostly got holier-than-thou movies on glorious Allied victories (Longest Day),fantasized heroic tales (Where Eagles Dare) or pure 'fun' movies (Kelly's Heroes). Even a movie about a defeat (a Bridge Too Far) was turned into a'ridiculing-the-Germans' tale. Those diving deeper into movies made about that dark period in history would discover non-English classics like Das Boot, Talvisota, Come and See and Die Brücke. 'Mai Wei' is a truly epic movie based on a Korean named Yang Kyoungjong. Here are the historical facts about him; In 1938, at the age of 18, Yang was in Manchuria when he was conscripted into the Kwantung Army of the Imperial Japanese Army to fight against the Soviet Union. At the time Korea was ruled by Japan. During the Battles of Khalkhin Gol, he was captured by the Soviet Red Army and sent to a labour camp. Because of the manpower shortages faced by the Soviets in its fight against Nazi Germany, in 1942 he was pressed into fighting in the Red Army along with thousands of other prisoners, and was sent to the European eastern front. In 1943, he was captured by Wehrmacht soldiers in Ukraine during the Third Battle of Kharkov, and was then pressed into fighting for Germany. Yang was sent to Occupied France to serve in a battalion of Soviet prisoners of war known as an "Eastern Battalion", located on the Cotentin peninsula in Normandy, close to Utah Beach. After the D-Day landings in northern France by the Allied forces, Yang was captured by paratroopers of the United States Army in June 1944. This is his story in a nutshell. Reading the above may have taken you less than a minute. Yet the movie shows us this tale in 137 minutes. And much, much more detail and fantasy is added to the storyline to make it a truly epic tale with special effects that more than often put Hollywood's abilities in 2011 to shame. The movie is never dull, never predictable. The battle scenes are what you may expect from an Asian movie. They have a gift for them. I shall not give you more detail and spoilers and I will end with saying if I ever decide to make a list of my 15 favorite WW2 movies, this one WILL be in it.
