Such a frustrating disappointment

Let's be realistic.

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

In this episode, we finally get to see the fighting style of the final opponent from the other universe, Hit. I've read at least some stuff ahead about the guy but don't want to give away too much. Hit defeats Vegeta with this attack that allows him to skip time, albeit only one tenth of a second. I feel bad when Trunks goes to help his father. It's great to see Goku back in the ring. The pacing in these episodes is so nice. It doesn't just devote too much or too little time to talking but shows the action off well.Beerus and Champa's talking from the sidelines is always fun. I always like Hit as a character and can totally believe he's probably the strongest being from that Universe, except Champa and Vados obviously. There really isn't that much going on in this episode per se, but it does conclude the bits with Vegeta very nicely and set up the next part with Goku pretty well. As usual, we're rooting for Goku as he finds Hit's weaknesses. ***1/2
