Hellen I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
ChicDragon It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.
ChanFamous I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.
Jenna Walter The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
Calvin Hobbs I did not get a chance to watch it on TV so i bought the DVD. I liked the series a lot and it was scary, but... DO NOT!!! Buy this on DVD. Even though it was good i think it is a waste just because i only really liked a couple of the episodes. I suggest you rent it or catch it again if they show it again. I would like them to make another season but whatever. In order from best to worst these are my favorites (there are also ratings on each episode): 1.BattleGround (10 out of 10)Awesome!!!! 2.Autotopsy Room 4 (9 out of 10)Very suspenseful andthought out 3.Ulmneys Last Case (7 out of 10)Interesting 4.The End ofthe Whole Mess (7 out of 10)Very Interesting 5.The Fifth Quarter (Six out of 10)Okay not great but the most realistic out of all of them 6.You Know They Got A Hell Of a Band (4 out of 10)I only liked itbecause of all the icons they showed 7.The Road Virus Heads North (4 out of 10)The most scary but just not that good 8.Crouch End (1 out of10 it was just horrible!)CRAP!!!! TOATAL CRAP!!!!
girlyB I have enjoyed all of the episodes I have seen with perhaps the exception of Crouch End, which lost me after about ten minutes. End of The Whole Mess was brilliant -- the direction and the writing were so, so good. Battleground has exquisite acting and I especially liked Road Virus Heads North --I found it mesmerizing, contemplative, and unsettling. It resonated with me far longer than the others I think because it is most like a real nightmare -- the really vivid kind that stays with you. The antagonist is unknown, not immediately indentifiable and unrelenting. I found it subtle and intelligent in its understanding of what is truly scary.
ChristianZane After the Salem's Lot and Shining re-make fiasco, we finally have a couple of episodes form this series that really make up for a lot of the bad Stephen King movies on television.Firstly we have Battleground which sets the tone of the series and does a good job of making something out of a nothing story. The effects were well done (for TV) and except for the first 20 minutes, this mostly kept me on the edge of my seat."Crouch End" is an excellent companion to the night with a surreal nightmare through a desolate English suburb. Thrilling directing, a neat look to the film and great performances really make this and Battleground the two best of the series.
HowieLong The first week was fabulous: Battleground had absolutely no dialogue which was a risky proposition, and I'm glad TNT took a chance on it. William Hurt was very good as the rock hard killer who completely breaks down when confronted by a box of toy soldiers. The direction is very slick for a television show, the music was a bit on the nose but overall this was a great show to start the series off with.Crouch End is so far the creepiest of the episodes, it has the most horror elements in it so far and contains a lot of themes that Stephen King writes about a lot: the girl with the claw hand, Lovecraftian imagery and of course a messed up cat! The look of this film was amazing. It will tick a lot of people off though because there really is no story other than two people lost and seeing weird stuff, but the director did a great job of making it look and feel spooky.Umney's is a hard story to follow, and like Crouch End, is open to interpretation, which also will tick a lot of people off. There was quite a deviation from the original story that King fans will not like, but William H. Macy does a very nice job playing dual roles.End of the Whole Mess left me feeling empty: I feel like my emotions were manipulated all over the place to feel sorry for these characters when they brought it all upon themselves.I look forward to week 3!
