It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.

Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.

The Robinson family - him her, and not quite 2.4 children - move to a big house in a rural area for a specific purpose. Their daughter is autistic, and they want her to attend a special school. Eight years previously a boy and a girl had been murdered in either a single transaction or close to it. A local man had been convicted of the crime on his own confession. He had also confessed to many more murders. This is not quite an open and shut case because with the help of Thomas Edison no less, the victims appear to be communicating with the daughter. Appear to be? There is some quite obvious haunting early on which is witnessed by more than one person, so the viewer is left in no doubt that it is for real. Unfortunately, apart from a couple of fairly obvious red herrings, that is as good as this one gets.

I started to watch this movie back in 1999, while trying to record another show that I thought was on, but it ended up being this movie and I only had recorded the first hour of it & have been looking everywhere to find out where I can buy it to see the ending!!!! Help, can anybody tell me where I can purchase this? I know, after 8 years, u'd think I'd forget? Nope, gotta see this ending... I thought it was awesome of what I had seen...I had remembered that the name was Lost Souls, but whenever I did a search, I could never find info on it & I remembered the kids finding a box that did something, so when i read a few others comments, I saw that in there and knew I had the right movie. I was just missing the Nightworld part of the title. But know I have the title, I have to find a place to purchase it.Carolyn

I'll just be vague about my potential spoiling comments. There are enough canned plot elements in this movie that it's essentially pre-spoiled.This movie derives a few ideas from a Southern classic, To Kill A Mockingbird. I suppose maybe TKOM got its ideas from some source.... at any rate, after you watch this, you'll say, "Oh yeah, that is a ripoff".I think the truly entertaining thing about these McMovies is once you've identified a plot element, is to figure out whether they'll stick with the original, or try to twist it around. Not a lot of twists in this one.

Right from the start, this is a gripping horror. You know there's someone out there, watching...Some of the scenes reminded me of Poltergeist - inexplicable happenings, strange voices, dramatic music and the like. Very creepy throughout and full of suspense. My only criticism is that the ending is slightly O.T.T., but it's a good watch all the same.
