Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

I stumbled across this short "boy meets girl" film yesterday, and I must have watched it 100 times by now. This is a black and white animated movie. The animation is crisp and the characters are beautifully rendered. It is mostly silent, so there is no witty dialogue to memorise and repeat later. It is funny, touching, and poignant all at the same time. For a film with no words, it still manages to tell you loud and clear that, "Love is magic." I must also praise the accompanying score. The music gives this movie its heart. It's beautiful, moving, and uplifting music which will have you grinning like an idiot as the movie rapidly approaches its climax. If you're a hopeless, daydreaming romantic, this movie should be somewhere in your collection, on your mobile phone, your laptop, external hard drive, cloud account, everywhere. If you're having a bad day, this is a 7-minute long mood elevator.I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is one of the best things Disney has ever done, and speaking in 2016, it is one of the best films I have ever seen.

PAPERMAN is a great example of what you can express in silent cinema. It is a pleasure to see Disney stay connected to their early film roots in silent film making. They pulled off PAPERMAN beautifully. The story is simple and pure. That is what appealed to the audience. If you are older and familiar with silent movies, you may have a different opinion about how this short story was executed. However, share this cartoon with a child who has never seen a silent movie, and watch how their minds open. Children really enjoy silent movies because it still allows for free thought and mental connections.I think that PAPERMAN is a wonderful example of how powerful silent film really is. ENJOY

This film starts from a paper flying to a man. With a wind causing by a train passing, one of the paper a woman is holding fly and hit him. After returning it, another paper which the man is holding flies and hits her face. Since it hits her face, this paper has kiss mark on it. The man can't forget about her. While he is working in his office, he finds her in the building opposite across the road. Then the man tries to make her turn to him so he throws hundreds of planes made by papers. None of them reaches her so the man is getting sad. But with suddenly the paper planes start to fly again and these planes is going to lead this story to a dramatic ending. It's a simple story but makes the viewer happy. The music played in this film made me feel so excited.

Many people may say that this film is a beautiful love story. A man meets a woman. After that he sees her from his office. She works opposite his office. He wants her to notice himself so he makes many paper planes from his documents and throws to her office again and again. I think that almost all people experienced the emotion that he or she wants to talk to someone whom he or she meets in a public place. Therefore if I say beautifully, this film describes the wish of humans. However my impression is different from that. When I finished watching this film, I thought that this film is like the embodiment of a delusion of virgin people. I don't know why I thought so, but I think that this film is far from reality. If I made paper planes from documents, my boss would fire me. In addition, paper planes do not move by themselves and if a man cross the road where a lot of cars and streetcars go, he will die before he reaches the other side. Actually, I don't want to criticize this film. This film is beautiful, so many people don't think that this film is unreal.
