Interesteg What makes it different from others?
Glucedee It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.
Curapedi I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
Roy Hart If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.
OJT Perrier's bounty is a Irish/British co-production, and is a just what you expect. The film delivers as an entertaining hour and a half, with a load of Irish/British humor and fine actors, but it doesn't manage to get up to a classic standing.Cillian Murphy is playing unfortunate Michael, which owes a grand to small time gangster Perrier. At the same time as his pay is due, his father shows up, with the Grim reaper in his heels, according to himself. Well, Michael can't pay up, and Perrier's two gay (!) bounty hunters are after him. It goes wrong, as Michael's female neighbor steals his gun to commit suicide, and more or less are the reason for the following mess. The film manages to keep interest, as well as keeping the story very real, as British and Irish films nearly always are. I appreciate that. This film is funny, but don't expect it to be fast paced, like the marketing say, comparing it to Lock, stock and two smoking barrels. It's not close in story either, though it's still in the same genre.A fine piece of light entertainment which manages to keep you interested, as long as you don't expect it to be fast paced. By the way, a pool table cellar is a perfect place to hide when you're in for a shoot out!
Paul Magne Haakonsen For this particular genre of movies, then "Perrier's Bounty" failed to make a lasting impression, nor did it leave any significant impact. The story never really made it out of the parking lot, so to speak. The story, despite trying hard, never turned out to be more than mediocre. The movie does have an impressive list of actors and actresses on the cast list, but despite this fact, that wasn't enough to pull off the story in a manner that would turn out to be outstanding. The story is about Michael McCrea who owes money to Perrier. Michael is given a short amount of time to make payment due, otherwise Perrier's goons will set out to collect the debt one way or another. A frantic night turns worse when Michael ends up on the run with his suicidal neighbor and his dying father.Storywise, then there were moments throughout the movie that were great and there were some good ideas to the script as well. However, the overall impression of the movie was fairly mediocre, and there is sort of an irrelevant vibe to the movie, which was a shame."Perrier's Bounty" is great for a single watching, but the movie is nowhere near anything that would support multiple viewings of the movie. The storyline just doesn't have what it takes.
Ben Larson If you enjoyed Snatch or In Bruges, then you will find this trip just as satisfying.Michael (Cillian Murphy) owes a small debt to Perrier (Brendan Gleeson), a Dublin crime lord. After Perrier's enforcers come calling, and things go awry, Michael, his father (Jim Broadbent), and his downstairs neighbor, Brenda (Jodie Whittaker), go on the lam.In the process of saving their lives they mix with the local police, Brenda's ex, a coke dealer, some teenage car thieves, a farm woman with an active imagination and a group of mean-dog fanciers.Lots of bodies fall by the wayside, and the hoodlums get their just desserts in the most imaginative way.
davidshort10 I cannot imagine why anyone likes anything about this film. I'm about 20 minutes into it, taking a break from the boring task at home of putting some curtains up. Putting up curtains is becoming an attractive alternative to watching this piece of rubbish. It's a good argument for countries not to have a film board, as I see this was subsidised by the Irish Film Board. Quite why a country would use its tax money to finance a movie that shows its capital as full of violent loan sharks and hapless drug addicts is beyond me. It seems to be an inferior Irish copy of the already inferior type of gangster Mockney movies produced by the former Mrs Madonna.
