I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

This film is definitely not for everyone - certainly not most Americans who are so provincial in their tastes. Plan B is about as European as any film can be although technically it is Argentine from Argentina's foremost director, Marco Berger, who, apparently, must have fallen in love with 2001 because Plan B is an absolute steel in the way it is filmed exactly as 2001 was done and even with the same sound effects! Yikes! What goes on here? What is Berger trying to tell us? How are 2001 and Plan B connected? What mysterious conundrum is Berger attempting to convey to us? I'm at a loss to understand it and if I had Berger's home phone I would call him immediately to ask him what in heaven's name he is trying to say to us in the unique way he has structured Plan B. But alas, I am not privy to his private life and therefore I must remain in the dark, another confused soul wandering in the labyrinth of life.

This is a brilliant portrayal of a relationship between men where intimacy is explored and ultimately leads to a more substantial relationship. It was so well done, the exploration of desires, the confusion, the frustration, the joy etc., that I cannot understand why it has such a low average rating.Well perhaps i do understand... its a sad commentary on the maturity and values of the average person rating the film.Gay or straight, this film is a gem. Its message is gender and sexual orientation neutral. It speaks to the human need to be loved and to love and explores those special connections that we occasionally are lucky enough to make through life.Be a child of 12 again and dare to trust and love your best friend... and then let the adult part of you take the relationship to a higher level.

The story is implausible but done so well you can't help but like it. It is too much like a gay fantasy not impossible but very unlikely. There is a lot of good acting. I have to say though I much preferred the actor doing Pablo. The one doing Bruno looked too much like a Smart Alec-- I kept thinking this is a straight guy who just can't get into the role. This movie couldn't have cost much to make but it is very entertaining. If you speak Spanish the Buenos Aires porteño accent is a little hard to follow fortunately there are subtitles.Uplifting movie over all especially for gays.

A lot of good movies come out of Argentina and Chile. Unfortunately this isn't one of them. This viewer always has a reluctance to knock a well-intentioned movie made on a shoestring budget but this movie has multiple drawbacks. The idea of a straight guy setting out to seduce another (seemingly) straight guy out of revenge for being spurned by his girlfriend is an interesting concept that could have been intriguing and watchable. Unfortunately the guy doing the seducing looks like he slept under a hedge, which makes his appeal highly unlikely, added to which there are endless longeurs of wordless sitting around staring into space or at the nearest unremarkable building. Are we supposed to deduce something from this other than when the hell is something going to happen? Didn't it occur to anyone connected with this movie to shift to a different location once in a while? Anyone who has the remote within reach will be hitting the fast forward button many times just to get through the viewing. At an hour and thirty minutes, this movie feels like three hours. The script needs tightening up, the loooooong pauses need editing out and the actors badly need a shave, a change of clothing and a shower. (Did I really just say this? Hell, I BOUGHT this movie so I have a right to express my discontent.) A good idea poorly executed. Like I said, there's a lot of good movies coming out of Argentina, this just isn't one of them.
