Reviews

Supelice Dreadfully Boring
Mabel Munoz Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?
Stephanie There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Billy Ollie Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
irishboy141 I hate to be clichéd and write a one star review, but this movie was F**king horrid. First off not even counting the awful technical aspects, this movie is devoid of any feeling other than pretentiousness and weak a** characters. The main "protagonist" has no motivation to commit anything in the film, (the film maker throws in fear mongering audio montages in place of motivation and depth). The technical aspects are just as weak as the characters, its like it's shot on an early 2000s quality hand-held camera, the quality of picture changes from shot to shot (480p to 720p). and the action is horribly chopped up. This is disgusting and is only made for shock value, If you gave a depressed violent teenager "going through a phase" a camera, this would be the result. weak story, weak characters, weak direction, and pretentious symbolism to make even college art film students roll their eyes.
Sam S Okay, first of all, I had to write this review because I came to IMDb expecting to see a beautiful pile of hatred towards this film. I have no earthly idea how most of the reviews of this movie are positive, so let's just get all this misinformation cleared up:This film is AWFUL. It's DIABOLICALLY BAD. It is a BIG SH*TTY STINKING PILE OF DOG SH*T. This movie is the biggest middle finger to anyone who ever thought of cinema as a form of artistic expression. As someone who likes good movies and hopefully will get to write movies someday, I can honestly say that this is one of the most offensive things I've ever seen.I'm not gonna be talking about this film's completely backwards 'moral', which is basically misunderstanding the phrase 'survival of the fittest' and contorting it to mean 'kill everybody because they're all part of THE SYSTEM and they don't follow MY BELIEFS'. I just want to talk about this film on a technical level. Now, I sort of see what it's trying to go for. It's sort of the protagonist/antagonist setup that a lot of crime movies have, where the main character would normally be the bad guy. The one thing this movie doesn't understand, however, is that if you want the audience to feel anything for your main character, you have to make them have ANY kind of redeeming qualities, or be justified in the horrible things they do. This movie's main character (even before he goes on a killing spree for no real reason) is a COMPLETE ASSHOLE to EVERYONE. And that wouldn't be such a bad thing if it was a Walter White scenario, but this movie is clearly acting like you should be rooting for this guy. Why should i put myself into the shoes of this guy when i actively want to see him dead? And even without the horrible characters and the broken morality, this would still be a complete mess. The cinematography is dreadful, just more shaky cam sh*t to the point where the screen is just a blur of color and you can't even see the action, The colors and sound are incredibly dull, and APPARENTLY according to the trivia section, this whole movie was improvised. And it REEEEAAALLY shows. The dialogue and acting are horrendous and the scenes make no sense because the whole thing was done on the spot without any direction. Please, don't see this movie. Not just for your safety, but for the safety of World Famous Manchild Uwe Boll, one of the worst directors in human history.
Seth_Rogue_One First of all one thing you should know before watching it is that the lead is not sympathetic, he doesn't have a sob-story of being pushed around (more than the average joe) by society to the point where he finally snaps. So if it's that type of revenge type of mass-shooter flick you are looking for this might not suit your taste, because motives are sketchy and the victims are random for the most part. That said, it is a very entertaining movie, really twisted but I think that suits the movie as it is about a guy who goes on a killing-spree after all, with occasional touches of (really) dark comedy but overall a serious and sinister tone. What I found interesting (that I didn't learn until now after the second time of watching it) is that most of the dialogue was scripted and that they only had a 10 page draft when they made the movie and most of that was about events (that of course was not scripted, you can't just randomly blow up a car or shoot a person). And that truly surprised me because there is some good and natural dialogue here and Brendan Fletcher is great in the lead. What I'm gonna say next may take you off from wanting to see it because he is not known for doing all that great movies but this is one of the exceptions where he managed to get it right; this is a Uwe Boll movie and hopefully that won't take your desire away from watching it, because I think you will be missing out. It's not perfect it has some scenes that work better than others but when it's good it's really good, and it's never flat out bad.
Adam Peters (0%) Mr Boll, quite frankly you have outdone yourself. Because I had you down as a 99% talent free joke of a film-maker, with a misfiring, broken sense of humour, and a cack-handed ear for writing, combined with a clueless eye for direction. But you're not, you are as a matter of fact also a slightly evil man too. This in all complete honesty is a true contender for one of the worst films of all time. The plot follows a pasty-faced Brendan Fletcher annoyed with the ENTIRE population of the world because he gets a sub-par coffee (poor little lamb), his boss is unappreciative of his labour (as opposed to what exactly?) and his parents want him to go back to college (the bastards!). I just don't get it, what is his problem? Whatever it is I very much doubt idiot Boll is the man to explain it. So what follows is a combination of implausibility (his purpose-built home-made bulletproof suit more or less appears out of thin air. Which begs the question "Why didn't he go the whole hog and build a jet-pack to go with it, or a jet-tank?"), awful super shaky cam direction, and a morally repugnant concept that, if anything, is even more awful and nasty than it first sounds. Who the hell is this movie for? Not action fans as the "action" parts are just plain horrible to watch, and utterly tasteless in the worst possible sense. Not horror fans either as this has zero tension throughout as you know exactly what's coming through Mr Boll himself ruining the ending only about 5 mins in. Above all though it's just such a joyless, flat, nasty piece of work that doesn't even pass as a failed satire on messed up American kids with guns as it's not even remotely trying to be a satire, it's nothing besides Boll's own personal fetishisation of a taboo and sensitive subject. There's movies I love, movies I think are bad/good, and then there are movies I actually hate. This is one of them. A terrible, terrible example of low-end attention hungry crap cinema.
