Reviews

Huievest Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
Roy Hart If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.
Edwin The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
Haven Kaycee It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
Thom-13 I marked spoilers, but I can't actually imagine any comment could spoil this film. I watched it and it kept getting worse and worse and stupider and stupider which is quite impressive considering the starting point. Since, most of you won't make it to the end, there were a couple of humorous editing/writing/directing (not sure which) gaffes at the end. They finally reach this illustrious doctor they have been searching for and he lets them know there is a helicopter on the roof and they much go up. However, the helicopter is in a parking lot at the first level of the building. Watching the fight scenes is laughable, but not in a particularly good way. You watch someone shoot at center of mass and the head explodes. Then someone is frantically firing at all points from behind and between 2 or 3 other people. It was interesting to watch a film where the director decided acting, writing, editing and directing would have been a distraction to the plot. in the discussion of the film, there is a list of commentary on "What I learned from this film". Read that, it is much more entertaining than any aspect of the film. Even if you spend 90 minutes reading that.
dvisner How anyone could attempt to put some sort of positive spin on this rotting can of garbage is beyond me. I, like several others, gave it a chance because of several cast members, but even their performances were atrocious. It was painful to see the chief engineer of the Enterprise used in such a meaningless role. Several of these actors are capable of putting in good solid performances, but not in this flick. Wow! What a complete waste of talent. At times I even wondered if this was some sort of attempt to be funny, like Neil Hamburger, but like him it wasn't. This is the sort of film that has you constantly looking over your shoulder because you're horrified someone might actually catch you watching.
mikemdp What do you want from a zombie apocalypse movie? Social commentary? Rich symbolism? Literary dialog?Or, do you want wicked zombie gags, overacting, cheesy dialog and B-plus acting by B-minus actors glad to have the work? All my friends from paragraph two, welcome to "Rise of the Zombies." You will not be disappointed.A standard-grade zombie movie is the best you can hope for from The Asylum, whose previous living-dead efforts include the aptly named "Zombie Apocalypse" and better-than-it-deserved-to-be "I Am Omega."But the low-rent production house ups its game here, with some decent location shooting in San Francisco, some really gross zombies, more- than-decent acting turns by Jordi Kunte Kinte Reading Rainbow LaForge and the sane Hemingway sister, and a performance by Machete that's everything you expect and nothing more, because what you see is all he was paid to do.The Asylum seems to excel at zombie movies because they're cheap and easy. What's nice is, despite that, they seem to be having fun making these pictures and that fun is evident on screen. "Abraham Lincoln Versus Zombies" was a freakin' hoot. And the aforementioned "I Am Omega" was a more enjoyable adaptation of the Matheson novella than Will Smith's blockbuster ever could be.That's not so in some of The Asylum's other efforts, like its haunted house or found-footage movies, for example, which are boring and sullen. So, let's encourage the good stuff in the hopes it'll make more of it.This one's definitely worth the buck-and-a-quarter at Redbox.
FishersRJF This was the lamest movie ever!! First off Zombies can not climb up a bridge like they did and when they were getting into the helicopter, some waited for the door to close. When that many zombies get close to you, you never survive. They had zombies all around them and they survived!! Also Zombies do not swim like they did!! Plus when a zombie is eating you, you do not stand up with only a bite on your neck, especially when the zombie has been "eating" you for that long!!! The baby turning into a zombie was pretty sick and never should have been included in the movie. Also the main character used a shotgun to shoot a zombie biting someone's leg and only hit the zombie! Bull! Plus they were always aiming down and at the chest, but managed to hit them right between the eyes every time! This movie is only worth watching for a good laugh and to point out all the horrible mistakes!!
