Let's be realistic.

In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.

A group of delinquents are sent to clean the Blackwell Hotel. Little do they know reclusive psychopath Jacob Goodnight has holed away in the rotting hotel. When one of the teens is captured, those who remain - a group that includes the cop who put a bullet in Goodnight's head four years ago - band together to survive against the brutal killer. When See No Evil first premiere it was on 2006 when WWE was at it's top forms and back then i freaking loved it but after i gave it a 2nd look it was pretty bad by the numbers horror film with really bland acting from the entire cast and not that scary of a movie in general and nothing that you haven't seen before in general. (4/10)

See No Evil is the film that started it all for WWE films, and with a sequel due out later this year, I figured I'd give it a shot. The WWE films have been surprisingly good, but I think See No Evil is what most people expected when they heard WWE was going into the film business. Kane stars as a mad man, held up in an old abandoned hotel. Chaos quickly ensues, when a group of teenage delinquents are assigned to fix up the hotel, as part of their community service. Kane is a perfect villain, as he is a huge scary guy, however, he plays a character that has all of two lines the whole film. Being that this was WWE's first venture into the film business, they weren't able to get anyone of name to support him, and there were some awful performances, by young actors in their debut roles. This film was a just a very basic, generic, slasher film, that we've all seen a million times. There is nothing of note and it was quite boring and unimaginative. I can only hope with the development of their films division, that WWE and Kane can come up with something better for the sequel.

One personal belief someone should have when writing critiques is the belief that every film has potential, no matter how stupid it sounds or looks. Doesn't mean we should make the effort to see every film we hear about, but if we can't get away from the film, at least watch it with an open mind. So when I saw this movie when I was in middle school, I at least expected a decent story to go along with the Saw VII esque violence. When I left the theater, I was a little bit disappointed. The violence was in good loads but nothing too crazy, but the screenplay was awful. They got into the victims stories well and the bad guy even got a word in edge wise in regards to his past. The problem is that you don't even know his name and if you didn't do research before seeing this film you wouldn't have even known his name until the end credits. Even for a horror movie that's pretty low. Another low was the acting, the majority of the characters were poorly acted, it was either that or the script, it's probably the script. In the end you get a below average movie that WWE Studios churns out about as often as Apple releases a new iPhone.

The fact that there was so many negative ratings and reviews for this movie angered me. I never usually get mad with reviews because everyone has an opinion on what they think. But with this film, I can't help but think they must have been watching another movie, because this is by far the best Slasher film i've ever seen. This film has great character development. You really get to know the characters before anyone in the film is killed, which is good for a Slasher film, because with a slasher film there is always characters that you want to live and die. Also with the killer that is played by Kane, was also developed very good as well. We don't know much about him when in the beginning, but as the film proceeds, there are flashbacks of his childhood that show why he is a bloodthirsty maniac.Another thing that I really loved about this film is that its actually realistic. Most slasher films you can tell are fake, because in most slasher films the killer is usually skinny with super human strength that no human being can do. With this film there is no guy going around in a mask or hunting you down in your dreams. Its a giant guy that looks incredibly scary and kills people in very brutal gruesome ways, that it actually made it look like it could actually happen. Now don't don't get me wrong I love all the Friday the 13th and nightmare movies except for the remakes, but this film really made them look like puppy dogs. The violence in this film is absolutely brutal and super gruesome, which is another reason why this is a great slasher film, because you can't have a slasher film without the gore. There are some scenes in this film that actually made me cringe. I don't usually cringe watching slasher films, but this one really did the job. Especially with all the eye gouging, broken bones and giant fishhooks being thrown, I was very impressed. And some of the killings in this movie actually make you go WAOH!! especially in the opening scene, trust me you will be impressed, I know I was.The film is also very beautifully shot. The lighting is phenomenal, its not too dark and not to bright. Also I loved when they would show the killers point of view at times, because he has impaired vision because of a gunshot wound in his head, so they show how he views the world, I personally loved that idea.Although the movie got a 10 out 10 for me I wasn't very fussy on the acting(Except for Kane of course). The acting isn't the greatest. But it really don't matter because it is such a good slasher film. Kane did a great job at portraying a serial killer. He was perfectly fit for this role because he is scary even when he is not on screen.Honestly I don't know why people hated this movie so much. It's realistic, suspenseful and gory. I highly recommend this film, especially to all the slasher movie fans like myself to view this film.
