Supelice Dreadfully Boring
InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Sabah Hensley This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama
Payno I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
adonis98-743-186503 An intelligence operative discovers that no one is what they seem in the shadowy world of espionage. The Shadow Man makes fun of 80's Pop Corn Action Flicks and unlike films such as Commando and Rambo 2 which although they were corny and over the top they still had a lot of cool one liners and a lot of great action that they were entertaining and turned into classics now in this case we have just a bad made for DVD kind of action movie starring Steven Seagal who shoots down a chopper with a gun and then it explodes and has some of the worst cgi effects i have ever seen , also he punches a dude and his eyes go missing or even the fact that a guy gets shot in the cheek and he is still alive for a few seconds before he gets shot in the head. Action Movies might be corny and over the top but they are entertaining and great if they are directed by the right person and have a great cast which in this case we have none overall The Shadow Man is just terrible.
David Love Steven Seagal plays ex-CIA agent Jack Foster, who arrives at a Romanian airport with his 8 year old daughter Amanda (played well by Skye Bennett). However the holiday starts badly as a car bomb goes off. This is a spectacular explosion. Amanda is kidnapped (or is she?) by Anya (Eva Pope). Eva Pope is very easy on the eye and handles her role well. It's good to see Seagal employing a few good actors.Jack's father-in-law George (Michael Elwyn) has smuggled out the formula for a bio-warfare chemical that the CIA, the Romanian mafia and the Romanian cops all want for differing reasons and everyone suspects that George has used either Jack or Amanda to smuggle it into the country.Jack now searches for his daughter. Ambassador Cochran is looking for her too. Amazingly, Imelda Staunton fitted this rubbish in between Vera Drake and Harry Potter! Jack is also being chased by former CIA colleagues including Harry (Vincent Riotta). There are lots of shootings, fights, torture. Usual stuff. Seagal is again bloated, slow, has a strange skin colour and mumbles his dialogue. Having said that, I have seen him worse, which probably shows I've been watching too many of his films.Director Michael Keusch uses the 'modern' style of quick cut editing and shaky camera moves but you get used to it. The script is by Steven Collins, Joe Halpin and Seagal. It's a bit predictable but this isn't Shakespeare. It's Seagal.
swedzin The film has nothing to do with the title. The plot is simple. His daughter is abducted and he is running around, beating the crap out of people to find his daughter. Seagal is slow, monotone, emotionless... he uses Tai Chi in fight scenes, extremely boring. Other actors are also bad, nothing special... just there for being paid. It's very interesting to see actress Imelda Staunton here... what a hell is she doing here?! In this straight do DVD crap? She is a good actress that deserves more better films. Seeing her and Seagal in scene... it was a pretty large fail... that was so unbearable... I bet she was disgusted by Seagal's "performance"... There's nothing special to say about this film... it's incredibly boring and impossible to watch. Do something better... for example go beat the crap out of your dog... much more fun.
Tom Erik Høiås I bought this movie fully aware that Steven Seagal movies are just OK, or damn right lame. but sometimes you're in luck. unfortunately this wasn't it.you get that b-movie 90's feel. it's OK to watch, but you crave for something more. that something is called acting. you can see in Seagal's face that he just don't give damn. its just another forgettable action movie that he just don't get in to the plot. movies like "marked for death" and "under siege" where superb. and i truly believe he could make these types of movies again. he just needs to fire his agent and find a really talented director with a bright idea. then you have have the whole nine yards. but after 'mistakes' like this,"black dawn" and "into the sun" etc. i would be dreaming if i could see Seagal in a high budget action movie with capable co-stars, and full devotion shining on his face! i am still hoping! good night, and good luck!
