Lovesusti The Worst Film Ever
mraculeated The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
OllieSuave-007 The Pink Panther does home improvement and decides to heed a narrator's advice to get off his duff and work around the house. This leads one funny mishap after the other, from a runaway buzz-saw to a light that comes on and off automatically in the basement. Classic and funny facial impressions from the panther will serve up some laughs and his tactics in trying to fix stuff, from putting tape around the shower door to accidentally sawing one third of his house off.Very funny stuff here. It's non-stop entertainment and laughs - great for the whole family! Grade A
ccthemovieman-1 An annoying narrator and - worse - a laugh track begins this cartoon on a sour note. The narrator is chastising the Pink Panther for lying around, not doing anything. He suggests going to the basement, getting some tools and making something. There is some unfunny gag with the light switch and then the Panther saws part of his house off as a buzz saw goes out of control. The Panther pouts lies down on is bed, but once again is chastised. This time, the aggravating narrator suggest fixing leaky shower facet rather than spending big bucks hiring a plumber. Of course, that doesn't go right, either.Having a laugh track on a cartoon, for cryin' out loud, is ridiculous and an insult to every viewer....as if telling us when we should laugh. Worse, this cartoon wasn't funny in the first place. This might be the worst Pink Panther animated short I've ever seen.
alvin81 The 12th cartoon in the series continues the trend of other characters talking to the silent feline. In this case, it is character actor Larry Storch (of "F Troop" fame) mocking a fantastic cockney British accent, and harassing the relaxing panther. Ol' Pinky is trying to enjoy a quiet Sunday afternoon, while Storch badgers him into doing some housework. The Pink Panther encounters several mishaps around the house (Tim Allen would be proud), but Storch persists. Finally, after nearly six minutes of irritating the feline, Pinky loads a blunderbuss and gives the impressions he will blow away Storch.Funny and smart, SHOCKING PINK is a nice early entry in the series. Friz Freleng had not quite abandoned the dialogue that soon became but a memory in this successful series.Like most "Pink Panther" cartoons that were broadcast on NBC-TV, there is a laugh track present that only reinforces the fact these cartoons were aimed at adults as well as children. Though generally despised in America, in theory there is really nothing wrong with a few additional chuckles. Surprisingly, the giggles in SHOCKING PINK are not particularly intrusive. Besides, laughing matters.
Shawn Watson In this cartoon Pinky is happily lazing about in a hammock when a snooty narrator interrupts and prompts him into doing some DIY instead guiltless relaxation. At first Pinky tries to make something out of wood but ends up sawing part of his house off. And then his tail. While trying to relax in bed he is put off by the sound of his shower leaking. The snooty narrator encourages him to fix it but old Pinky has no idea how to so he just tapes up the shower door and lets it slowly fill up.Finally, tiring of the narrator intrusive nagging he loads up a blunderbuss and scares him away. It's quite funny but don't ask me why there is canned laughter. It's completely pointless.
