Solemplex To me, this movie is perfection.

Btexxamar I like Black Panther, but I didn't like this movie.
Ezmae Chang This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
merelyaninnuendo Short Term 12 It is not a pretentious or a misguided feature, which was easily possible considering the premise and such familiar genre features that quickly derails from its self-created track. The structure of the script may be familiar and follow a rudimentary process but it certainly isn't narrowed down to a typical climatic edge but breeds maturity whilst suffering and battling its own characters. Destin Daniel Cretton; the writer-director, surpasses its witty script through his brilliant execution skills and offers an adequate response to the raised questions in here. Brie Larson pulls off her role convincingly despite not getting the expected support from her supporting cast. It is short on technical aspects like sound department but is fulfilling in editing and its camera work which makes it pleasing to encounter as it keeps it light; contradict to its premise. The minor dilemma in here would be the priority of the character and its perspective that is kept above the plot track which bars the range of the feature a bit. Short Term 12 has a potential to not only run for a longer term but rule wiser and safer as it breeds smarter approach for the essential future generation.
Gre da Vid Adults, who as teens, had troubled past help teens who have a troubled past in a home for about a year before they are released. Well written and performed and well worth the time to view this film.
alfCycle This low key movie really does a great job of portraying the hardships and struggles of homeless/neglected youth and the people that try to help make a positive difference in their lives. This is a character driven film that really lets you get a glimpse into a subject that is not often portrayed in the media. My wife had previously volunteered at a type of shelter for homeless youth and this film definitely struck a cord with her and her experiences. Overall, this was a very affecting film with moments of sadness and joy. I highly recommend this movie.9/10...but that's just like, my opinion, man# Of Times Watched: Once
grantss Short Term 12 is a residential facility for troubled teenagers. The staff include Grace, Mason, Jessica and the new guy, Nate. Grace is the leader of the team and is secretly in a relationship with Mason. Things are going reasonably well until Grace discovers that she is pregnant. At about the same time, a new patient, Jaden, arrives and she stirs up unpleasant memories for Grace...Very original, engaging and emotional drama. Not the kind of setting you see covered too frequently and it is done in a very sensitive, non-judgemental manner. While initially seeming a dry subject, you get drawn in by the backstories, the interactions and the issues involved. The plot threatens to go down a predictable, safe and clichéd route from time-to-time but then constantly surprises you with its originality and focus.Great work by Brie Larson as Grace, showing early indications of the form that deservedly won her an Oscar 2-3 years later for Room. Solid work to from John Gallagher Jr (of Newsroom fame) as Mason. Cast also includes Rami Malek, who was later to star in Mr Robot, as Nate.
