It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.

This seems to be a sci-fi/ghost story mix-up. At the start of the film the plot seems very confused and it is a bit hard to actually understand what is going on and why. However, things improve once the main crew has been set-up properly in the film, and the action can start to take more of a single main track. The main characters are working on a new energy source that will revolutionize the world. This is somehow linked to the existence of a ghost boy in a locked room. Why and the exact role of the ghost is unclear and the main plot is to figure this out.The acting is generally pretty good, while this is plot slowly flows on - you definitely notice this is not an US film from the pace as it all has a kind of philosophical touch to it, contemplating the relation between a mother and her son as the story unfolds. All in all this is well worth watching, even if it isn't the paradigm changing film of the decade.

Doing these and managing to get ten lines is such a pain in the butt. IMDb must be controlled by a bunch of power crazy meat-heads... ten lines as a requirement, who has enough time in the day to think up ten lines!!! I mean common! Do you even want to read something that's two lines let alone ten? What kind of a lame brain mongoloid thought that guideline up for submitting these? My review is short, sweet, and gets to the point, here it is;Think The Grudge, Ringu, Cube, Hellraiser and GhostBusters rolled into one graphic film and that is Silk. Sometimes making a movie that is like other movies doesn't work, but it did in this one.

First of all this is typical Asian sci-fi script: nothing really makes total sense, but they keep going with it anyway. The science is completely absurd, the acting is bad, the effects are laughable. The idea is that this is a movie that tries to capitalize on the recent success of Asian ghost horror films. You have the ghost, but this time it is analyzed in a scientific way. And when I say scientific I am thinking Van Helsing :) Alas, it is a bad film, you can't sympathize with any of the characters and the "twist" of the end is obvious as a mile long silk thread.Bottom line: it was an effort, I give you that, but it wasn't enough. Without being bad because it is full of clichés (and it is, anyway), it is bad because of a not thought out script. And if you expect to get scared, you will be sadly disappointed.

Very original storyline. It's quite nicely written and imagined with sad moments and can scare you quite amazingly. The movie is about a child's ghost and as we go along, we discover this little boy's story. The acting is great and you can see good character development. The story also shows you how the main characters view death I really appreciated Yosuke Eguchi's part The special effect is quite nice actually and good make up...I think it's a great Asian movie with the cooperation of Chinese, Taiwanese and Japanese actors
