Excellent but underrated film

For having a relatively low budget, the film's style and overall art direction are immensely impressive.

Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

The movie talk about a man grew up in a village and he went to the metropolis; he impressed by the manifestations of modernity and the people of the metropolis take advantage by his naivety. The master scenes : First when Shukry Sarhan rescued Faten Hamama on the train bar. - Also the scenes that depicted the flood of the Nile, also the scenes are not very impressive. It consider good for the possibilities of Egyptian cinema. The director Youssef Chahine went to the Cannes film festival and he was enthusiastic about his own film in France. The movie did not attract much attention. So he disappointed. This movie is number 82 in the list of the 100 best Egyptian movies.
