Hellen I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
GarnettTeenage The film was still a fun one that will make you laugh and have you leaving the theater feeling like you just stole something valuable and got away with it.
Senteur As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.
Guillelmina The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
Benedito Dias Rodrigues The first half part of sphere is quite good and convincing but the final part the movie clearly sunk into darkness, confusing and disturbing including the viewers...has some inconsistencies in the script and some huge mistakes like when Dustin leaves the flooded room into underwater one thousand feet bellow without a proper equipment....Crichton'story is pretty smart, but the main characters didn't help to much....just Samuel L Jackson deserves some recognition....Dustin didn't fit in science fiction, but the movie itself isn't too bad at all....enjoyable and watchable if you forget some mistakes.....Levinson was a good director in the past but everyone has a bad days indeed!! KineticSeoul I thought the start was pretty good, with it's mystery and tension. Which is composed of navy divers and scientists. They are deployed into the deep sea to investigate a mysterious alien object which is in the shape of a sphere. The thing is once the crew finds the sphere it becomes really boring without much substance. This just didn't seem like one of those deep ambiguous movie that people will watch over and over again to understand a bit better. Majority of the film is composed of hallucination, strange things going down with paranoia and horror. I did think the cinematography with it's claustrophobic settings was quite effective. With the style of a film such as this, I expected a bit more depth to it. I remember watching this movie as a kid in a theater and was confused about what was going on. However watching this now as an adult, I still couldn't get myself to appreciate the story. It just wasn't a rewarding experience, despite the really good visuals and special effects. I also give this movie a 5 because at least it tried to build tension and horror without relying a lot on blood and gore. 5/10
dakjets I found this film very tedious and boring. It lacks surprises. It is not a very good horror film, and a rather chaotic and poorly made science fiction film. Where are the good ideas? The can't be found. The story line has no real surprises, and have we not seen this before? Yes, we have. The great horror of Alien. It's very very similar. The settings are different, but where Alien was scary and groundbreaking, this attempt fails miserably. The film score are always very important in these kind of films. But the music sounds tame and outdated too. I guess the special effects are okay. It is strange that Dustin Hoffman wanted to be in this film. He is miscast along Sharon Stone. Don't bother with this one. Rent Alien one more time instead.
mangkaynor too much time spent on useless banter. characters are supposed to be smart but behave stupidly. things just happen randomly and when you get to the explanation its very lame and unrewarding. Even Congo was more entertaining than this. This is another example of Crichton's hack writing trying to hide behind bullshit factoids lifted here and there from student research papers. the fact that Samuel Jackson is in the movie tells you this is b-movie baloney. Hoffman looks sedated in most scenes and looks like he is dialing in the performance. how is it that you can make exploring a crashed alien ship boring? this movie did just that. very very disappointing.
