Btexxamar I like Black Panther, but I didn't like this movie.
Freaktana A Major Disappointment
Haven Kaycee It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
Billy Ollie Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
Leofwine_draca SPIDERS 3D is yet another cheesy B-movie in which mankind is menaced by a number of obviously fake CGI spiders which come up from the depths to attack New York. Luckily, ageing action hero Patrick Muldoon - still best known for his supporting role in STARSHIP TROOPERS - is around to save the day, aided by military tough guy William Hope (whom you may remember from ALIENS and HELLRAISER 2 back in the day). The story that follows has little sense but a lot of action, so how much you enjoy it purely depends on your tolerance for schlocky horror and sci-fi tropes. There's certainly nothing you won't have seen here before, that's for sure.
brantudorelonut In my opinion this movie had a lot of potential, only if they wouldn't have chosen specific exaggerated, unrealistic development of specific situations in the story. And the low budget cannot be an excuse for that. If you have a good sense of humor you'll actually find those scenes laughable, funny due to their ridiculously unrealistic nature. The funniest sequence is in the end where the giant spider supposedly died from a gas pipe explosion despite the fact that the creature could withstand heavy fire from tanks. Also the other funniest scene is when martial law is in action, the army happens to catch the hero at gun point and he just starts running and "escapes". The computer animations of the spiders are decent. I think it would have been way better it they would have chosen to let the queen spider alone so the could had been able to develop new weapons, and use some existing one to kill the spiders from inside out.
rexferal11-856-669191 Once again, I'm amazed at the number of less than flattering reviews of these movies. Are audiences so spoiled by mega-buck blockbusters that they can't take a decent flick at face value and enjoy it? Fine, you don't care for the genre. Okay, then go watch a genre you enjoy and leave the petty nitpicking behind.$7,000,000 (estimated) is not "low budget," so that group of hyper-critics can't denounce that. The story is fairly original (given a much worked over genre.) The film flows smoothly. Director Tibor Takács has done an admirable job of keeping the story on track and presenting it well. Lorenzo Senatore's Cinematography is excellent. The acting is quite good, actually. Patrick Muldoon, Christa Campbell, and William Hope deliver solid performances as do others. Someone commented, "Terrible CGI." Maybe it's me, but I thought the CGI looked pretty damn good. That was one heck of a lot of spiders wreaking one heck of a lot of havoc on New York.I can't for the life of me understand why some reviewers find it necessary to absolutely trash films. Most are entertaining and each needs to be taken on it's own merits. If these people don't like these films so much, then why do they bother to watch them? Just to mindlessly trash them? If someone is going to write a review, write one with some substance and forethought.Spiders is a well made film. It gets intense and delivers plenty of exciting entertainment - if that is what someone is looking for. If you don't like the genre, then don't waste your time.I recommend Spiders without reservation - if you like this sort of thing. I sure do!
Diane Ruth There are times when the perfect script is presented to a gifted director and the combined vision of the artists is so large it seems too immense to be confined to a motion picture screen. This is the case with this film and it is when the cinematic technology of 3D becomes more than a gimmick but an essential creative choice. The expression of such a concept as in this film requires it and no other technique would do service to the epic story. Superb director Tibor Takacs and screenwriter Joseph Farrugia have realized their vision in breathtaking fashion and their inspired collaboration has brought to the screen the incredibly intense, overwhelmingly terrifying, and stunning special effects extravaganza that is Spiders: 3D. This is not simply a movie. It is the epitome of all motion picture experience.
