GamerTab That was an excellent one.

FuzzyTagz If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
Fairaher The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.
adonis98-743-186503 A pair of aging stickup men try to get the old gang back together for one last hurrah before one of the guys takes his last assignment - to kill his comrade. Packed with terrific job from Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Alan Arkin 3 legends of Cinema and giants of Hollywood 'Stand Up Guys' tells a simple story and shows the bond between 3 old friends who have spend alot of things together plus the film's ending is old school action and something that Arnold Schwarzenegger or Sylvester Stallone would do and the way it was handled, directed and shot was just freaking epic and genious. The Stand Up Guys is a must see for fans of any of those 3 actors that has heart, humor and action!!
bluekarma06 I agree with several other reviewers here who say that you probably need to be older to appreciate all that is going on in this fine movie. Having grown up thru the great years of Pacino and Walken and Arkin(who was not a lead usually but support as he is here), I truly enjoyed how each of these fine actors personality traits came thru in their characters without becoming cheesy sterotypes of themselves. Pacino was Pacino and Walken, well he's Walken! You get a fine dose of controlled crazyness from all 3. They were totally beleivable in thier roles as hitmen for the mob. Now that they are much older and ready for the rocking chairs, one last score has to be settled for the mob boss(the dude from Breaking Bad in the wheelchair and the bell who could talk!). This one last job will test their friendship and loyalty to the max. I wont say what it is because it's better to see everything for yourself. This movie is the kind of flick you can watch again and again over the years, share with similar older friends you grew up with and really appreciate. The funniest line in the movie(and there was a few) was when they opened the truck of the stolen car and foound a women naked and tied up. Pacino asks her how she got in there and she says "I am taking a vacation" and Walken says "what does that even mean?"! I am laughing now as I recall it. It shows the differences in the world and the gap between the younger and older generations and how we see and treat each other. It's a great moment. It was funny, nostalgic(no modern gadgets accept the car they stole including rotary phones were used) and drama and heartfelt drama about friendship and love. It was damn near perfect.
nmlal68 I had no expectations whatsoever when I put the player on and had this movie rolling. And what a great surprise it was when I saw myself tremendously enjoying a great movie with two of my beloved actors, Pacino and Walken, who superbly underacted their roles to produce a magnificent climax from beginning to end.Oh man, it was such a delight to watch these two veteran actors, acting side by side as smoothly as breathing, giving the impression of having a great time all along. Everything so simple, so cool! The movie was just fun, sentimental, even dark, supported by an amazing blues-rock soundtrack and a fantastic all around acting. One might argue it's not really a great movie. I don't care. For me it was! It made me feel real good!
jonl6072002 Great movie, great story, great actors. Originally saw it as an option to view in past but always passed. So one night after dinner when I had time to relax I figured now is a good time as any. From the beginning I was laughing. The plot seemed simple and was well acted. At times it seemed serious but flowed smoothly. All three main actors had chemistry, especially Pacino and Walken. It actually felt like they were two life long friends. I really enjoyed it and would watch it again with a someone like a girlfriend who hasn't seen it. Deserves higher ratings then shown. I would recommend this movie to anyone who wants to kick their feet up and relax with a couple of laughs.
