Did you people see the same film I saw?
Doomtomylo
a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
Myron Clemons
A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

I just watched this for the first time today and I WAS BLOWN AWAY.First, let me take a moment to reiterate that I loved the first film. In fact the first film is one of my all time favorite movies. I remember when I saw the first film that for the first time, I left the theater knowing that I had not had that much fun at a movie since I was a kid and saw Star Wars for the first time. I remember going to the movies back in 1997 and watching it 6 times at the theater. And then I purchased it just as soon as it was available on the home video market (which was predominately VHS back in 1997).Then came Starship Troopers 2. It went directly to DVD, and was filmed as a low budget movie. Although I don't believe that Starship Troopers 2 is as bad as most people make it out to be, I will however agree that lacked any of the energy, feelings, excitement or the overall fun that the first film had. Although ST2 did have some good moments, what I disliked most about ST2 was the fact that the story went off into a silly direction with the mindcontrol bugs. And once the mindcontrol plot started, the movie's plot never got it's feet back on the ground. And when ST2 ended, you almost wished that never made it(for the sake of the original). In a way, ST2 tarnished the legacy of the first film. However Today I watched ST3. Like the second film, ST3 also was a direct video release. With that in mind, I lowered my expectations based on the mediocre job they did on ST2. ........AND THEN I WAS BLOWN AWAY. This film is a worthy sequel to the original film. The movie is great. I would have gladly paid to seen this movie in theaters. The special effects are good, the story has a plot twist, and it is excellent. Lots of good action. GREAT SCREENPLAY! My only two complaints is that I would have liked to have seen a larger battle at the end of the movie...but thats okay, ..My other complaint is that they didn't use any of the original movies' brilliant musical score....but that's okay too...because I was just thrilled that that this movie was good.If ST2 tarnished the legacy of the first film, then ST3 restores it

I enjoyed the first Starship Troopers, didn't like the second one at all, and this third one ... well. It was good to see Casper Van Dien back as Rico. I particularly enjoyed his approach to acting here, which involved a lot of strutting and shouting as well as a bad haircut. I thought Jolene Blalock was outstanding, a pro who did the best she could with substandard material. Same goes for Boris Kodjoe as Dix.The story here didn't make a lot of sense. As in the Heinlein novel, there's a secret Federation base called Sanctuary. Its location is top secret, known only to a few pilots. One of them is Jolene, who is shipwrecked on a Bug planet, along with a singing Sky Marshal and a collection of losers. If the Bugs find out where Sanctuary is located, the Federation will quickly lose the war. Does the Federation go all-out to rescue Jolene? No -- and, in fact, it's made clear that no rescue attempt will be made, because some people want the singing Sky Marshal dead. Does Jolene carry out orders to kill herself in order to avoid capture and interrogation by the Bugs? No -- and not only does she not do so, but she doesn't appear to even think about doing so. It's left to Jolene's boyfriend Boris to send Casper and six troopers (all of whom are naked, and several of whom are naked ladies because this is, after all, direct-to-video) on a secret mission to rescue everyone. This new Magnificent Seven wear Marauder suits -- huge things, twenty feet tall and more, obviously super-expensive, and armed to the teeth. How Boris snuck the suits out the Federation back door, I can't tell you.In the course of things, a great many peace activists and other kinds of criminals, including Rico, are put on TV and hanged with what look like vacuum cleaner hoses. (Don't worry. Rico gets out of the jam in the same way James Garner got out of it in a 1958 episode of Maverick.)The Bugs still look good, but the CGI of their exploding planet is terrible. The interstitial news announcements from the fascist Federation media are still entertaining. The only reason to stick with this film is morbid fascination; sometimes you just have to stick around long enough to see how things turn out. Save yourself some time and don't even get started.Would you like to know more? {CLICK NOW}Uh, on second thought, don't bother asking.

this movie sucked it's like watching kids TV show or movie like power rangers OK the camera and visual effects looked so crap CGI animating it is very weak. So is the bug animation Even the first movie looked better than this one and that was made in '97. I would say the CGI in this movie is on the same level as Robocop 2 which was made 18 years ago. i know it's low budget b movie but this movie got %50 people still like this crap comeon what's so good about it ? it was boring main girl character was fine but this movie just hopeless and pain i rather watch Doom better then this or Aliens and Battle of Los Angeles and Terminator Salvation were better then crap movie and the big giant monster looks SO terrible there some nudity in movie was OK but people give this %50 percent because it has porn in movie that is just stupid movie i ever saw and story didn't NO SENSE IN EVER make sense the way it edited just looks really bad even i stand the movie no more it's time waster 0/10

This movie and Starship Troopers followed the book very closely. However in the book Rico's parents were killed in the first movie. In the book Rico's father lived and joined the mobile infantry to help fight the bugs. The term see you on the bounce in marauder is used throughout the book. I know certain reviewers were very critical about the script and the actors and stated they just scraped off them off the street. Some questioned why others from the original movie were not in marauder. Well dizzy got killed off, Zim was doing highlander and Carmen Ibanez was a bond girl playing Dr. Christmas Jones with Pierce Brosnan. The actors in marauder are professional and the script was more than adequate. Some people were turned off by the religious aspect of the movie. But how else can you explain Anoke's relationship with the bugs and the brain bug from planet p.
