Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.

The movie really just wants to entertain people.

There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

This movie is set in in Kansas, the late 1860s. A beautiful new bride and one of her friends is kidnapped by a tribe of Sioux Indians seeking revenge on General Custer. A proud Lakota Sioux warrior falls for one of the women and they begin to feel a deep connection to each other. The other woman goes only lives to return to her people. This story examines the struggle between two cultures, and a woman's honor. This movie has stayed with me since the first time I watched it. It made me question how strong I would be in her situation. And how I would deal with choosing my people or the 'wild savages'. Wonderfully done!

... but overall I can't help loving it - even though I'm not a fan of romance movies. At all! I never get tired of looking at Michael Greyeyes, though. :D My main complaint about the story is that it doesn't take the time to develop the relationship between the main protagonists (instead, precious minutes are wasted on some goat-milk drinking cavalry fool with fake teeth.) One moment Anna is outraged by Tokalah's advances, the next moment he throws a blanket around her shoulders and she changes her mind. One moment she calls him an arrogant pompous fool, the next they're fused at the lips. It's all a bit too fast and the ending too abrupt (how come she didn't need a map to find the Indian village?) and bewildering (what exactly happened to the village?), but oh well... I still like it!

I watched this film for the first time this week and it has captivated my heart to the point of almost obsession. It is as if I am spellbound each time I see Anna and Tokalah gazing at each other with feelings that stir my emotions so much that I even desire to have such a love. I find myself hitting the rewind button each time I watch Tokalah dance and when any kind of contact between Anna and Tokalah occurs, physical or eye contact alone. I have watched Tokalah dance over and over again around the fire. I am in awe at his grace and power in his movements and Anna makes you see and feel what a loving and giving person she is, especially towards Tokalah. I have watched this movie already 4 times and I will watch it again tomorrow. It seems to have awaken many feelings that have been hidden away and I love that movie so much. It has become my favorite movie of all time. Janine and Michael were sure paired wonderful for those parts that may forever change my life. All the actors and actresses played their parts so well it is as if you were there with them. There were also parts of the movie that did bother me but then it was how life was for the indians when General Custer was at war with them.

I have seen this movie and I want to get it for my Lidrary and I can't seem to find this movie anywhere on DVD or Video... I cried during this movie and it is very romantic... I am into the indians and the romance novels that come out.... This is something that Cassie Edwards would write about....But the director and cast were very good at the roles they played... and I would like to see more of this kind of movie on TV or made on DVD or video in the future... Is the Indian that was the main character a real indian and if so what tribe is he from and is he planning on filming any more movies in the future? Is there a book on this also I would like to find out and read the book too. Donna Brook
