Melanie Bouvet The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
Cassandra Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
Gordon-11 This film tells the story of a marine biologist and a secret agent, who meet during a holiday but are soon separated. The first half of the film is basically just Alicia Vikander and James McAvoy on the screen against a really beautiful background. The two leads are beautiful, and the scenery is astounding. The second half takes a turn and have no relationship whatsoever with the first half. The second half just drags on. Overall, the story is really boring. It is unfortunate that the filmmakers have concentrated on beautiful visuals and cinematography, at the expense of a plot.
calicosilver Thanks for yet another great film, Wim. People who enjoy and appreciate Wim Wenders' reliably unique cinematic expression and ideas will enjoy this one also. No need to say more.
kellyq12 I went into this movie with high hopes. There aren't enough romantic dramas out there and I loved that it was described as a "haunting love story." Well... it was more like a disappointing love story to me. Without giving away any spoilers, the format of this movie intercuts between the past romance and the current separation of the two main characters portrayed by James McAvoy and Alicia Vikander. While I like both of these actors individually, I didn't really feel the chemistry between them. That said, I was still interested in their separate storylines (he is taken prisoner by jihadists and she is doing deep water sea exploration). But... after all that waiting, I didn't think the ending was very well done.
traveler582 Unfortunately just another muslim stereotype movie. I'm sorry to see Alicia Vikander and James Macavoy doing this movie.
