CelluloidRehab What can we expect from this Italian exploitation movie ? Firstly, a La Bionda disco intro complete with neon colored, heavily pixelated scenes from the movie to start with. Dave, an ex-cop, is in the midst of his 4th death penalty attempt. They have tried to gas, hang and shoot him. We then go into a flashback to how Dave is in his current predicament.Dave Speed (Terence Hill, who kind of looks like a younger, shorter version of Franco Nero) is a freshly graduated cadet on his first assignment. This happens to be a Hulk-like origin story, where Dave gets caught in some sort of "test". Apparently the detonation of red plutonium occurs on Indian Reservatations. Thats how witty keeps us down. Everyone assumes Dave is dead and his superior ,Sgt. Willy Dunlop, (played by the ever prolific Ernest Borgnine) is demoted to traffic cop because of it. Dunlop is old (should have been retired years ago), overweight, very excitable, tends to yell and does not easily believe his own senses. Borgnine's acting ability tends to run the gamut from horribly bad to good. His performance as Willy Dunlop is painful. There should be some rules about using Borgnine as a torture device. It should be outlawed. It gets even worse when Borgnine gets cheerfully chipper.Apparently the test/accident has bestowed Dave with what appears to be limitless powers. Powers such as : invulnerability telekinesis "spider sense" like intuition x-ray vision water walking faster than a speeding carwalk on wallsfixing horse racespool sharkingracketeeringsuperior lung capacityhypnotic suggestion/mind controlWeaknesses : the color red.He uses his newly found powers to solve crimes, to the surprise and confusion of Sgt. Dunlop. Dunlop seems to like the results of all this success, but doesn't like the explanation of why and how. Dave sets his sights on organized crime run by Torpedo (played by perennial tough guy, Marc Lawrence). Torpedo is running a counterfeit money operation, with Dunlop's favorite starlet, Rosy Labouche. Torpedo tries and frames Dave for the death of Borgnine. That is the reason he's on death row.Exploitation is the name of this movie,however, it isn't really done well. It is quite campy, in a Saturday morning cartoon kind of way. It is like watching a bad parody/comedy of the superhero genre (like an Italian version of Mystery Men). This movie is quite silly at times. Suspension of disbelief does not accurately portray the amount of silliness. This movie is definitely not for the faint of heart or the newly indoctrinated to the Italian exploitation genre. Also, do not consume this movie alone. If you must watch alone, get Jack Daniels to watch with you.

Felix_Deutschland One thing is for certain: As long there is an Italian flick, set in 70's/80's Miami and starring either Terrence Hill and Bud Spencer, or just Terrence Hill as a cop, you can be sure to witness brilliance.Well, as long as you view the German language version, which is full of wonderful flat catch phrases. The special effects are poor, and the fight scenes are anything but impressively choreographed (the move repertoire of Terrence and Bud pretty much just contains slaps and headnuts), but it's just that simple manliness of those two that makes your heart laugh.Terrence Hill sits in the death row at the beginning of the movie, shoveling read beans into his mouth as his last dish. The only thing he wants is just more beans, and he is making some jokes about the people who are terribly concerned about him being given his death penalty in just minutes.I mean, this might sound stupid when you read it, but you just have to see it. It's childish (I just to first see those movies when I was about 6 years old or so, and I still enjoy the simple charm those movies have), it's silly, it's an hour and a half funny talking and trashy, but amusing slapstick.And mind the brilliant score! It's 70's Italo-Disco-Sound at it's best, all so wonderful trashy it gives you a big grin just when you hear the theme... "Suuuuper Snoooopeeeeer..."Wow.

Aaron Empsall This was an HBO classic that I first saw when I was about 7 years old back in 1985. I loved the concept of a super powered cop at the time, and the name, Super Fuzz, was just really cool sounding to a 7 year old boy. I remember pretending to be Super Fuzz and when I saw red I would fall down just like the famous chase scene.This is great for what it is, a ridiculous cop B-movie that apparently kids from the eighties who had HBO will love and have fond memories from. However, the acting is horrible, and the story is barely there. In the end, prepare to be disappointed and have a small chunk of your childhood ruined. I re-watched it and realized I ruined the innocence of that 7 year old boy. Do yourself a favor. Don't re-watch it if you liked it once upon a time, and if you are just now watching it, then you probably are going to hate it, especially if you were born after 1982. Good Luck!

Aaron1375 This surprises me, cause I don't remember it being dubbed and Ernest Borgnaine was in it. Apparently, though it was. From what I remember it was pretty good too. It revolved around a cop who gains super powers after a nuclear accident. There is one catch though as any time he sees something red he loses his powers. Like I said it was a pretty funny comedy, nothing to great but it is worth a look see.
