Reviews

Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
Ketrivie It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.
Grimossfer Clever and entertaining enough to recommend even to members of the 1%
Brennan Camacho Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.
Ben Davis It's… good I guess? I mean it's pointless and probably disappointing to some, but I didn't really hate it or even dislike it that much. It simply serves to retell the events of the show and have a nice little adventure at the end, and it does that, so mission accomplished I suppose. It actually cuts out a lot of the boring drama that plagued the show, which is nice. The animation is great, that's one thing that's been consistent throughout this series, which is a plus. If you're too lazy to actually watch the show (and you're honestly not missing that much), then I think you can watch this and get the gist of the show just fine. I had only one problem with this movie. During the scene with that guy trying to get Kirito to tell him what happened in SAO, Kirito says "I need to be somewhere, lets make this quick". It's day out during this. When they're done talking the sun is going down, and Kirito doesn't seem to have a problem with this. Only problem I had.
lostkey82 *Marked as spoilers, Just in Case This was not a proper Sword Art Online movie. It was a ridiculous attempt at rebooting nostalgic feelings in a viewer, in my opinion. It was just a bunch of recap footage from the Sword Art Online series, with a half-hearted attempt at explaining what the series was all about, plus some 10 minute bathing suit/bikini scenes thrown in for good measure. Then for the last 15 minutes, you get a slight feeling of comfort, with the thought that the writers were even attempting something legitimate, with the "promised" underwater adventure. The story does leave you with the idea that there is more to come, which would be fantastic, as long as it's not just an attempt to make money, as this was very much so. Yes, a definite rehash or continuation would be welcome. I enjoyed the series, but this is far from close to acceptable.
