Contentar Best movie of this year hands down!
Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
Ogosmith Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
Fredrik Hansson I'm 31 years old and started with snowboarding when I was 15. Terje Haakonsen was the big name and the sport was young, punky and cool. I've seen a lot of films and some of them is better then this when it comes to "sick tricks" and high airs. Some of the older films is much more raw and punky in style. This film is very relaxed, beautiful and almost dreaming. It also focus on what I see is the true heart of snowboard: free riding! There is short clips from big jumps and halfpipe but no rails, crazy roof drops or wacked out clips from the hotel. This is only a group of nice people who loves to ride and do it well. The scenery is magical. New Zeeland and Alaska is the most extreme places on earth to do helicopter tours in and just sit back and enjoy the beauty of earth is mind blowing. Soundtrack is well chosen and not a single weak minute or boring episode, you just want it to go on forever. That's it, that's all. This is snowboarding!
rubennagels This is, I'm sorry to say for those how think otherwise. Is the best snowboarding movie I have ever seen! The fact that it's not only about the boarding, but as well a big part of nature. It's not a following up of funny dressed up boarder acting like the one the world, just by doing some wall plants and rails, or a big air. This is were snowboarding is about, re-inventing the way of living. And that is what Travis is all about. No funny en good looking park moves, no rails to showoff, just pouder and big mountains. To ride your one live on. As well the awesome nature shots in the film are a way to attract not only snowboarding fans, as well other people how just like the snow and nature. This movie is more than tricks and kicks only. And not even to mention the way Travis Rice and his mates ride this monsters of nature. Travis show were every boarder dreams of. By a lot of people named the best snowboarder Shawn White, tolled use once that when he went snowboarding with Travis even he is just a pro but not a Star. Some of the stuff Travis is capable of is to hard to do for a lot of other pro's at this moment in time. Boarding is a way of living
LeopoldStoch This is the most solid snowboard movie I've seen. These guys are basically flown to the sickest places on the planet (New Zealand, Jackson Hole, Canada, Alaska) to create fresh lines after being dropped from helicopters. The aerial camera-work is solid, and the film includes beautiful shots of the mountains and the wildlife in these areas. The sponsors definitely paid up for this one; the guys are hitting massive kickers on otherwise untouched slopes. No wasted time on rails and jibs. Just big mountain riding and big air. There is a short segments which shows the guys at different big air competitions as well - those could be left out.The soundtrack is excellent. It gets a 9 instead of a 10 because of the shameless blatant product placement for Lib Tech.
vf_i It's very sad when we see movies like this - expensive (and the money have obviously not been just "spent") but ruined by amateurish people in the crew.In this particular case photography is top class: the movie is filled with action, there are a lot of interesting shots from helicopters and filming takes place in several locations, sometimes abroad. Some scenery is so beautiful that it is actually worth to watch this because of it just once. The problem is that, well, storytelling is almost non-existent as if the purpose was just to show the locations, insert some fancy scenes here and there and cut everything so that it has an unobtrusive rhythm. Scenes follow with little drama and I checked how much time has passed several times. I mean, editing really seems to be done by someone who never did this before in projects more serious than cheap erotics. Music choice is also unsatisfactory - it is primitive and aggressive. The rock guitars just don't go well with high-altitude mountain scenery.Compared to other movies: "MDP Picture this (Snowboarding)" is made from inferior footage shot sometimes in much less interesting locations but good editing and direction make it a higher class movie leaving a very good impression.
