Too much about the plot just didn't add up, the writing was bad, some of the scenes were cringey and awkward,

Blending excellent reporting and strong storytelling, this is a disturbing film truly stranger than fiction

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.

I found this movie to be very good and my children found it very exciting! I highly recommend this for a family movie night. I have told my friends and family about this movie and they also have enjoyed it, but we are all wondering if there will be a sequel? Will the captain and Mariah go together in search for the parents? I know my family would love to watch it! The only problem I have, I do not recall ever seeing an advertisement or commercial for this movie when it was suppose to be released in the states. If there was a bit more in the advertising department this movie would have done better in the box office.

I came across the DVD having never heard of this film. It was a fun family adventure film similar to the Mummy series. I like the fantasy/reality world of set in the 1800's with the wild inventions and crazy machines. Micheal Sheen's character was well done and I would like to see more of him in this role. You can tell the movie is based on a teen adventure novel as it wasn't too complex and has some plot holes. I think more time could have been spent on them events leading up to the main movie plot. The race to find various magical antiquities leaves endless options for future films. Sadly as the box office was small I doubt there will be a sequel even though the movie sets the stage for this to be one of many adventures. Overall it is an enjoyable film.

If you're looking for a light-hearted evening show that gives a fun atmosphere, I'd say this is a show to go for. Not much special effects, kids friendly, simple and not-that-easily predictable.I enjoy this show, I won't say that I love it, nor I think it's very well done. I think the acting and scenes are nicely put, just that the story and conversations, as well as how the flow should go, can be done better.I'd definitely look forward to a sequel if there ever will be (i-doubt it), and i think the twists along the story are pretty neat.I would say that there are moments that I went.. "come-on... he shouldn't have done that..", or "oh man, that's so stupid".. Still, if you like adventure, little-bit of the national treasure kinda flick, you'd like this movie sense of adventure and its ride.

This is a good, entertaining, slightly-cheesy, mystery/action movie you can absolutely watch with your kids.I honestly don't understand the low ratings. Note that it is "Indiana Jones LIKE" in nature, but Indiana Jones it is not. It is not meant to be and it is not meant to be taken too seriously. What it is, is:1:Fun 2:Clean 3:Well acted (for the most part. I suspect some characters were meant to be cheesy) 4:well filmed.I enjoyed it. I feel it's completely safe to watch with young children, and that is a rare thing. I recommend you give this movie a chance, ESPECIALLY if you're a parent looking for something you can watch with your kids that YOU can enjoy at the same time...
