The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.

Okay first off I would like to say always consider a movies budget. Now of course I know that sometimes you still get good movies from lower financed films.OK from this point if you have not seen the film This Is A Spoiler!Okay let's look at the actors first. The only actors I recognize is Omar Gooding which is Cuba Gooding Brother. I also recognize Eric Roberts which is Julia Roberts brother. There is also a couple of other familiar faces. These actors have been in decent films. But they aren't A list actors from a long shot. Keep this in mind. Everyone else is pretty much no names or at least don't stand out among elites. So already that sums up your acting core. And that being said you can't expect much more than just that Again I'm not making excuses but the talent just wasn't there. Now on to the acting. It wasn't excellent , it wasn't horrific. Given for what was available it was decent. Nothing more nothing less. It has comical moments that will keep you chuckling to blend in with the suspense. A lot of people mention that this movie was about killing and having 12 minutes to do so. But I seen a deeper message in fact it mentions in the beginning that they had to kill the person who was the guiltiest. And it seems like no one ever thought about what if they killed the little brunette that kept whining. which turned out to be the main reason. How would that have of affected everyone else's role? Who actually went to heaven and who went to hell?Would you have enough heart to die for the sake of not harming another human being to save yourself? When you see a person, do things always seem as they appear? These are the things you have to ask yourself... I watched the movie about 3 times already , and to be honest I enjoyed it. If you're not afraid of everyday things that make you think, even the little things its at least worth a watch. The Painting in the room revealed many messages...

..was the rating on another movie site. That isn't the one I give it. When I saw 5.9, I figured it would be a decent movie at minimum. After the third or fourth spoken line, I paused the movie and checked the rating. The acting was that freaking bad. It said 5.9/10. I returned to the movie. I figured it would get better.I checked the spoiler box so if you missed it, you have one last chance to flee. When part of the group was released at the beginning, I thought to myself, "Oh they are getting rid of the bad actors. I won't have to see them again. The movie is really going to start rolling!" WRONG! The released group was taken to a private room and we would spend the rest of the movie TRAPPED with them. When it was revealed they had to kill off one another, I erroneously assumed they would kill off the worst actors first. Wrong yet again. If you haven't picked up on it yet, the movie is filled with bad acting. The only believable actor was the preacher (Thomas Howell). Everyone else was bad. Some ridiculously worse than others. When a movie fails, people discuss why so. Some say it was the acting and others will say it was the story or the lines. With this I can honestly say it was both. If you replaced these actors with Oscar winners, the movie would still fail because the dialogue sucks. There is nothing there. What makes things worse is that we never hear each person's story. How can you figure out who is the guiltiest when you don't know why most are there? It seemed as though there was quite a few innocents. The basic idea behind this was interesting but that's all.

Likes : The entire premise of The Devil's Dozen is pretty obvious to anyone who's a fan of portmanteau horror, twelve disparate strangers are thrown together in a room and must recount their past misdeeds. The gimmick here is that someone must be killed every twelve minutes and it's up to the group to ensure the sole survivor is the most righteous one. This has that tale of the crypt keeper feel to it but it not a brilliant film or an Oscar winner, with the ending it show it also has that film devil concept to it, but this is one film I wouldn't rush out to buy on DVD. It is how ever a DVD you should rent first before paying out the price in the store for it, because it wasn't the greatest film to watch has this type of film has been done some many time there getting old.Dislikes : Where do I start, the subplot to the script is seriously poor in telling the story because there is not back story of any reason given than the fact they have to kill each other, the actor was OK but it wasn't brilliant, there was a few actor that weren't convincing at all it felt wooden at time like they've fresh out of acting school or still students of acting. The fact that the story is they have to kill each other in 12 minutes you don't get to feel or get a feeling for the characters because there no time to real get to know them & what they've done to realise why their there.it a very poor written film in script the concept is good but I think it could of been better.

We had "House of 9", we had "Would you rather" now we have "The Devil's Dozen". Movies with the same plot are starting to become a phenomenon sadly, cause lets face it, we have 100 The Blair Witch Project & Paranormal Activity copies, easily another 200 zombie movies per year, exorcism films are becoming a trend and haunted houses + gore are becoming something of a natural thing here.Did we need "The Devil's Dozen? No! Is it really that bad? Well let's think: 1) the acting, especially from the ladies, is laughable, annoying and just sad. 2) there is one Afro-American here and they made a complete stereotype out of him. 3) way too easy to predict. at one point one character says "I did not see that coming". Hah! That was one funny line tho. 4) originality? far from it. 5) nice kill-shots? nothing like that here. 6) logic? escaped from min 5 I think, run away and left you alone with Devil's Dozen. maybe you'll be luckier, and see it with some friends and laugh a little. Therefore, The Devil's Dozen is nothing new, nothing impressive, slightly under average, not a complete letdown, but it's way too easy to find something better. Therefore, my advice, leave it, try "House of 9" that one has some good parts as I remember.Anyway, if you do decide to watch it, and you have seen other horrors like it, post a comment here, tell us what you think, is this a good add to the gender, or sadly, another Dozen movie.....
