StunnaKrypto Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
Lucybespro It is a performances centric movie
Solidrariol Am I Missing Something?
Celia A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
nestoryaviti NOT MY THING... Horror movies with story that's neither engaging nor story telling are just bad to me. It felt forced even cause you have people who have to die horribly for the sake of movies with no reason to in the first place...
KissEnglishPasto ........................................................from Pasto,Colombia...Via: L.A. CA., CAKI, COLOMBIA....and ORLANDO, FL This is a Review of the 3-D VERSION, from the GUT! (My "Id" was in Suspended Animation while viewing this...As was the rest of my brain!) Recently, It occurred to me that I hadn't seen a 3-D movie in a long time! (NOT Counting the SHREK shorts at Universal!) Suddenly, I had a tremendous urge to see the 3-D version, A.S.A.P.! Well, I just saw it hours ago! This Movie and my opinion of it can easily be encapsulated in just a few words: "3-D GLASSES ON: 7*"/ 3-D GLASSES OFF: "4*!" That's the whole Enchilada! Decided to see "The FINAL" with a very specific purpose in mind: To enjoy the hell out of the 3-D gimmick aspect! And solely based on that single criterion, it was most satisfying indeed! As entertained as I was with the 3-D images, I'd like to add some observations: Would NEVER consider seeing it again, with or without glasses! Do not think the urge to see another 3-D movie will ever grab me again, unless convinced that the film had stand alone merit. The recent "REAL 3-D" process, incidentally, is FAR superior to the old RED/GREEN 3-D glasses we've known for decades! No headaches! No blurry vision during the film! Much crisper and cleaner image! " FINAL" hardly has anything else positive going for it..."Same Old-Same Old" in just about every area you could mention, except for everything related to visual & 3-D department.4*.....ENJOY/DISFRUTELA! (If that's Possible!)Any comments, questions or observations, in English o en Español, are most welcome!
Nitzan Havoc Although I'd really enjoyed the first film (and to some smaller extent the second and third), I did find myself wondering what exactly did the directing duo James Wong and David R. Ellis have that was going to justify another film - and then another. Wong did the first and third, Ellis the second and this one, and after watching it - I daresay I almost pray Ellis took charge of the next project as well. The Final Destination has without a doubt matched the first film, and in a way maybe even surpassed it.After an excellent first film (could have been a masterpiece but Wong's directing botched it), the 2nd and 3rd were mostly appealing to the already existing fan base, offering absolutely nothing innovative or in any way new. This 4th film, however, has decided to shuffle the deck and reintroduce the familiar motives, and has done an amazing job! The protagonist, a male character like in the first film, has numerous vision this time, most of them being the clues and signs to which the group must pay attention in order to foresee the next death. Having the signs appear as independent (yet confused) visions is a wonderful upgrade! The of course, the opening credits scene featuring the deaths shown in the first 3 films, and the ending scene - both have some very nice use of visual effects. The ending has some sort of a twist to it, offering a new perspective on the futile battle the group has against death. Everything feels upgraded, new and improved.Personally, I wasn't happy with the gore scenes (which I consider a cheap cheat and something that has no place in Horror, but in a separate inferior genre), nor the nude scene (again, cheap and unnecessary), but these were the only blunt disadvantages I could find. All in all, The Final Destination isn't a masterpiece more than the first film, but it finally lives up to it (unlike the two previous films). One of its best features is that it appeals to old fans of the anthology as well as to new viewers, as it doesn't at all rely on the occasions of the previous films (perhaps a small hint here and there). If you've seen the first three film, this one is a must-see for you, and if you haven't - while I'd always recommend starting at the beginning, you might as well begin with this one and enjoy the upgrades.
SnoopyStyle This is the fourth installment in the Final Destination franchise. Nick (Bobby Campo), Lori (Shantel VanSanten), Hunt (Nick Zano) and Janet (Haley Webb) are attending a stockcar race at McKinley Speedway. Nick has a premonition of an impending disaster. He causes a commotion with a racist hick and the quartet leaves along with the hick, a car mechanic and security guard George (Mykelti Williamson). Samantha (Krista Allen) and her family are also able escape. Then the group starts dying one by one as the premonitions keep coming for Nick. The franchise continues with the same concept and structure. The CG is cheaper. I like the group for the most part. The franchise has really honed in on the fake out deaths. They're the best part. It's fun to expect a death but then get surprised. The problem is that the same old same old is not enough. A sequel doesn't have to be just another copy.
