TrueJoshNight Truly Dreadful Film
Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
Janae Milner Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
Anoushka Slater While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
gspg91 I just stumbled across this little gem on an on-line movie web-site and all I can say is WOW! It's been a while since I've seen a film done this well and how refreshing considering the garbage that they consider films nowadays. The acting outstanding, especially the boys, cast wonderful, plot awesome...it has everything and to top that, the heroes are kids. A great adventure for the whole family...adults and kids alike... it's got everything you'd want in a great story, lots of riveting action, drama, a little comedy and lessons to be learned about true friendship, loyalty and courage. The movie was REAL.. I found myself rooting for the two young heroes immediately and readily drawn into their adventure and wondering all the time what was going to happen next as in any good story and at the credits, I wanted to stand up and cheer...great work guys...this one is a WINNER!
jefilm A standout at the 2008 Daytona Beach Film Festival, ''The Flyboys'' deserves to be seen. Here's the review from Film Critic Jeff Farance:''The Flyboys'' 5 (of 5 stars)This is the sort of discovery that film festivals live for. As do festival audiences. To say it's a family film is to take nothing away from its maturity, its urgency and its adventure as two boys with a love of all things airborne become entwined in a mob plot to rip off a casino's cash haul by crashing the plane carrying it and its guards.A sprinkling of familiar faces (Stephen Baldwin, Tom Sizemore, Robert Costanzo) accent the fine performances by stars Jesse James and Reiley McClendon. But what's amazing is the total professionalism, including some palm-sweat-inducing aerial acrobatics and ground chase scenes, along with outstanding special effects. ''The Flyboys'' simply soars, and takes its audience along into the clouds for a breathtaking ride.
dmsfl I saw this movie last night at the Daytona Beach Film Festival. I join with the scores of previous folks who are shocked that the Hollywood honchos passed on distributing this great movie! All I can really say is--it's their loss! This film was fun for all ages in attendance. The audience laughed, they cheered and they cried. I loved everything about it. The characters/actors, the plot, the stunts, everything! I won't say there weren't a few typical predictable lines or plot points but all in all it really was better than any movie i've seen in a long time.If you have the opportunity to see this film, jump on it...you won't regret it!
sherdenton I absolutely loved this movie. The mother is the mother I wish I had had and wish I had been. And the cast was wonderful and it flowed well and it has an ending that is fulfilling. I esp. loved the mother and Reilly McClendon. The flying scenes were very interesting and the story line had everything you could want. I esp. like that the bully gets what is coming to him. I had bullies as a little girl and would love to have had the skills and guts to take care of him like the boy does in this movie at the beginning. I got to meet the actress playing the mother and Reilly who is now 18. Both seemed like very nice people. And the writer/director was also very down to earth. I am awaiting the DVD release so I can buy this movie and watch it again.
