This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows

I was really hoping for more based on the ratings that I saw. The cinematography is decent, as is the acting. However, the movie was relatively slow to pick up. There was nothing spectacular about any of the slasher scenes. The main females are quite attractive and there is some decent nudity involved. However, the plot is fairly weak. I found the plot to be way too unrealistic (even for a slasher flick which is saying a lot.) This movie really could have been a lot more, and it certainly had a decent beginning If you want to see a decent slasher flick that is relatively recent, I would recommend "I spit on your grave," "all the boys love mandy lane" or "cabin in the woods."

(No significant spoilers, actually) This movie is really, really bad. Even if you tell me the Budget was 1.5 million, It's a waste. Straight-to-DVD is the only destiny this flawless film could deserve, despite it should never have been made.First of all: it violates one of the main principles of every decent movie (including of course Horror movies), which consist on revealing the kind of movie it is and settle the film's tone and climate at the first 5 minutes. The Hills Run Red, by the contrary, is a Horror, Slasher film, with no murders, neither violence, during the first 30 minutes! Not even any kind of intense darkness (unless you consider a short scene of a stripper using heroine is dark and intense for a Horror film of the 21th Century).Second: the acting is awful!!! Almost annoying. The exception is Sadler (who nearly doesn't appear in the first half of the movie). The plot is garbage. The altruistic way the stripper, Tyler's cheating girlfriend, and Tyler's traitor "friend" decide to help him with his crusade is simply ridiculous. The reaction of Tyler to the cheating and the betrayal suggests that producer's dog ate some pages of the script. Then you have some pathetic attempts to gain depth with far-fetched dialogues explaining incest and ambition issues (similar to the villain exposing his plans to the hero in cartoons), combined with revelation of artificial "pervert" behaviors linked to sadistic filming and monsters breeding. The killings, the ways the good ones escape, and the tricks of the bad ones, are all extremely artificial (but not even filmed in a comic way: just artificial boring garbage). And the "gore" scenes are less interesting and less intense than in Hostel. In addition, the Topic of the movie (obsession, and all the things you may sacrifice for it) is tackled in a soft, dull way. And the most interesting character, Concannon, has a too secondary role. The positive: a little bit of nudity from Sophie Monk (strange face, lovely tits; forget about a long scene building a really sexy climate: just flawless nudity), a nice sex scene with Janet Montgomery, and a scene with a short dark moment of son-mother love (normal love, not incest). The 5,5 IMDb users' rating is extremely generous, unfair. Even in Cinema Terror and Bloody Good Horror it gets 3/10. The 5,5 rating is obviously inflated by radical Fanatics of Slasher sub-culture. Indeed, for example, one of the reviewers who rated the film with an unbelievable 8 (eight!!!!) stated himself "t's a great movie for film geeks and horror buffs all around, and a sly poke at the gore-nography sub genre culture." Trivia: the Director, the Screenwriters and some of the actors have (before and after this movie) no career in films.

Well a while back I saw clips of this movie in a fan-made music video and I spent a good 2 or 3 weeks trying to find out the name of this movie ( all I saw was Babyface and some gore shots ). I really looked everywhere for this movie but living in a small town in South Dakota we don't have many stores that have movies. So finally I just started looking online and I found this and was really excited about watching it!But.... when I started it I kinda was disappointed. I still watched it hoping it got better but it really didn't. You could really guess what was going to happen in the next shot and well that's never fun in a horror movie right?I gave this a 4 because the story really didn't capture me and it just didn't interest me all that much.~Joe

Finally, I got to see this hyped horror. After watching the many promos that showed on cable, I was hoping for something truly big. Me & my expectations! We've the usual Mr.sincere guy(Tad Hilgenbrink as Tyler), his doting love(Janet Montgomery as Serina), his naughty, prankster pal(Alex Wyndham as Lalo) and then we also have a blond hottie(Sophie Monk as Alexa) who's sometimes mellow but mostly high! All the right roles for a chill buster, and then of course the monster character - a Jason lookalike, slaughter maniac called Babyface! The first-half goes smack on predictable lines. The boredom could have been partially avoided if at least one of the characters was knocked off right in the beginning. But I must say the movie delivers in the second half. At times violent but still tense. And the unexpected finale tops it all.The performances were to the mark especially William Sandler(always fab in evil roles) as the presumed dead horror movie director Concannon and the wickedly talented Sophie Monk as Alexa.Inspite of all that, one of the main protagonists, our Yuckface...oops Babyface has quite a clumsy role here. Like a dumb butcher who knows nothing better. His characterisation could have been stronger and this movie would have been a good hit.Verdict: The recipe is a weak mix of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Jason and some others but still....bloody nice :)
