Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

I feel obligated to tell you, anyone who scored this less than a 7 probably has a miserable home life and if they are movie critics, well, perhaps they shouldn't be. Nobody cares to hear your whinging about how this person didn't do this and that person didn't do that, the fact of the matter was there was absolutely nothing wrong with the acting in this movie. Was the plot outrageous? Yes, idiots, it was meant to be, the movie was called hurricane heist, what did you think you were in for? I went to this movie to have a good time and that's what I had. I hadn't seen Maggie Grace since Lost and she did a fine job, along with Toby Kebbell, Ryan Kwanton, and Ralph Ineson, who is quickly moving up the ranks of Hollywood bad guys lol! I enjoyed this movie as much as Twister or Into the Storm, maybe even more as it adds an extra element to the story. To those who didn't like it, maybe have a look at yourself before criticizing the movie.

I rented this movie and could only stomach the first 38 minutes before I quit. The premise looked pretty good but putting it into practice was a challenge the director and actors just weren't up to.First off, the acting was just ludicrous and the dialogue was laughable. It was apparent that the director had disdain for southerners because the actors portraying characters that were from the Gulfport area all talked like they should have been standing out in a cornfield or trying to keep from falling off a turnip truck.Second, and most ridiculously, the team of robbers who break into the Treasury facility take out about a dozen highly trained, well armed security personnel with tranquilizer darts, and not a one of the highly trained guards is able to score a hit with a real weapon. Not one. Then, listening to the two supposed hackers speak cyber babble while they tried to defeat the vaults encrypted lock was just to stupid to keep wasting my time. The special effects, up to the point that I checked out, weren't groundbreaking
and might have gotten better as things wore on, but having seeing the trailer, I doubt it.

"The Hurricane Heist" did pretty poor business when it was released to theaters. While a number of factors probably doomed it, ranging from poor marketing to no big stars in the cast, I think the ultimate reason that did it in was that for the most part it's very generic and unoriginal. Oh, there are a few new things here and there, but they are throwaway moments, and the screenplay apart from those moments goes down a very familiar road. You'll be able to predict most of what happens long before it actually unfolds on the screen. The movie might still have been saved with some skillful directorial touches, such as good action and suspense. But the movie feels surprisingly boring, even when the title weather activity is at its most fierce. The dull direction probably explains why none of the cast manages to perform in a way that catches our interest or sympathy. In the end, what we have here is a very uninspired B movie, albeit one with slicker production values than usual.

I was siding with the hurricane...actually felt pity for it appearing in such a disastrous movie :( My dog who happened to be watching with me was crying all the time !! Unfortunately IMDB does not provide for half star ratings :(
