Redwarmin This movie is the proof that the world is becoming a sick and dumb place
InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Seraherrera The movie is wonderful and true, an act of love in all its contradictions and complexity
Isbel A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
Souroneil Lahiri IF ONLY presents a deep sense of the passionate banks of life people desire and pursue in the temporal thoroughfare of life. Reckless mistakes, mindless whims, flipping desires and cradled agonies make it a film worth a watch. The way truth counters dreams and bring to end relationships that have lost love only to start another mishap of the heart. Love dies the death of a forlorn phoenix only to rise from its ashes to bloom new buds. If only makes us falter more and more into plummeting reality amid islands of solace that wet shoes with rains bring in to our own home, with lonely memories of love, of secrets, of waves splashing against life.Lena Headey and Penelope Cruz challenged their critics in this subtle tale of passion. Henshall is better than his regular sitcom spree. Ripoll's plot is deep and tries to creates magic-realism in making the protagonist turn back temporally to undo blemishes of the past. The scenes with the Spanish garbage-men and lines from Cervantes make certain scenes glitter with color and words.Folks, watch this movie to relive passion.
r-c-s First we shall consider that's an European movie and hence a B movie ( budget etc ). However A few dialogues are just A+ ( like the final Vic-Sylvia dialogue under the rain and the frantic dialogue Vic-Sylvia in the beginning, when he tries to hide his affair ). Other scenes are A+: when Vic comes back endlessly to the pub, waiting to meet the woman he had (probably?) met in another time zone...finally he does...and he finds somebody else at his (supposed) place, playing his (supposed) role... Those scenes give great vibes if you can understand the character's state of mind. In the end, what the main character considers a spell, ultimately turns to his utmost advantage ( he gets a new, charming woman who loves him & turn from bum to award winning TV star ). A great lesson for those into it. A lesson imparted with modest means, yet to the point, even without wooden Hollywood A+ actors, sex scenes & billionaire budget shot in Africa or Himalaya. Someone made a reference to Henshall as a poor man's Ewan Mac Gregor...In this film he's much better than the shifting Macgregor pathetically trying to mimic Alec Guinness in the War of the clones.
aaaf-1 I wouldn't rent this movie. It's a complete wasting of time. Like a vacuum, the movie message just keeps sucking. The writer is persistently shifting the burden of his own psychological problems onto the audience's shoulders, and casually trying to push his old-fashioned beliefs of a 'fate' stuff into your mouth. Behaviour of protagonists is far from being natural, and everything rings hollow. Obviously, no one really loves anyone in this sombre dismal performance. (I actually have to add something, despite the fact that I said all. The reason of it is there is a requirement of 10 lines of the text as a minimum length for comments. I think this is not in a fair and good spirit of a web-site to make such a requirement since it violates the freedom of expression, like, I personally think I've already said what I wanted to say bout the film. ...Well, after I added this flame, I suppose there will be 'nuff lines to finally display my modest comment on the movie.)
demimonde_nc This is far from the brainiest movie I've ever seen. But I admireromantic movies with unpredictable outcomes, and this one fallsin that category. If you are looking for the dark psychology of FightClub or the all-out strangeness of Being John Malkovich, lookelsewhere. If you are a movie snob or are into gritty realism, youwill HATE this movie. IF, however, you did like Sliding Doors,Mystery Date, Notting Hill, or (I hate to say it) Chances Are, youshould come away from this movie totally satisfied. I enjoyed itenough to watch it last night when I came across it on some HBOchannel, though I had seen it already a year ago, and I guess thatsays something.
