torstensonjohn Indulge yourself to an afternoon matinee on the tv while watching this somewhat action style film. Similar storyline to many a movie out there, couple on vacation one is a Marine (Dibiase), the other his wife as a advisor to hotel. They get there and all hell breaks loose with rebel forces taking over and taking hostages. Cue the Marine wanting to go in and get his wife and rescue the hostages. For a WWE movie it isn't terrible but the editing leaves little to be desired for. The characters are really flawed by no development to most of them. Michael Rooker with a small but complex role was well received. I would chalk this up to ok in action as the choreographed fight scenes were less than stellar. 4 out of 10

Mimer dPilgrim Sorry couch potatoes, my first review is of the "do not watch!" kind. When you watch a trailer that shall make your mouth watering and the hair on your arms standing attentively saluting you, for something that shall be your amusement for one and a half hour of your life fails badly, that is a major warning sign. When same trailer highlights every crucial moment of that one and a half hour and they have to put in fillers because there are not enough of those moments in the retail product, thats the second warning. When they put fake wrestling or reality show household names in leading roles instead of true actors, that is third warning and a red card! My suggestion is to get some dark beer, good company and watch Hildos Harley instead, it is ten times the fun, the thrills and pure American (we still want to believe that HD is American, don't we?) power. If you for some strange reason must watch this, be certain to have a good lap of your preferred gender to cry on afterward. You have been warned! May the sunshine always shine at your back and no pebbles in your shoes!

borisduende This movie doesn't take itself seriously and delivers strong action sequences. Considering you don't pay for it in the theaters and you probably will catch it on TV like me, you have nothing to lose but to enjoy a 90 min of brain relaxation with jungle adrenaline. The Asian island setting is lovely to watch with some breathtaking shots of coastal splendor, including a boat cruising a turquoise blue lagoon. Michael Rooker and Temuera Morrison bring class to the cast, their supporting roles are enjoyable to watch, as always with those two. Maybe it's time for a variation of the late great Ebert rule for Emmet Walsh: "No movie starring Temuera Morrison and/or Michael Rooker can't be altogether bad" I think that's true. I saw it in HD, it was nicely shot, action sequences weren't bad except for some really shaky camera during some fist fights. It's not first class, but satisfying. Million dollar man's son is a bit stiff, but he's snatching those sculls not for a quick Hamlet moment, but to smash them into the wall, so he's forgiven. Good movie to kill time and relax your brain.

Marine 2 follows by bringing in WWE's young powerhouse Ted DiBiase, Jr. as the next hero in this sequel. Cena played his jarhead all muscle and stunt work, but DiBiase is a whole nother kind of cat.DiBiase is pro wrestling royalty, being the son of Ted DiBiase, Sr., the so-called "Million Dollar Man." The young DiBiase does his dad proud with a great performance and excellent fighting skills. In shirtless scenes, DiBiase - with the ripped body of a professional athlete – establishes his physical presence and the film never really strays from showcasing him.DiBiase plays a Marine sniper whose last mission turned out bad and Lara Cox is his very hot wife. He plans to get some needed R & R at the plush tropical resort in the Philippines where his wife works, but instead, when terrorists attack, he has to fight his way out to rescue her and the other hostages. The plot shamelessly rips off "Die Hard," but the locations are beautiful, the women are gorgeous and there's cold blooded action throughout the film -- and DiBiase is all about the action in this movie. In one long fight scene against two ninja assassins, DiBiase matches them hold for hold, taking out each one with some deadly wrestling moves of his own.The scenery is beautiful and there are more wild shootouts, explosions and evil villains for any one movie. What more could you ask for? DiBiase puts in a good first effort here. Tough, likable and built for action, he could go places. Hopefully his next movie will give him a better chance to show us what he's got.
