Jonah Abbott There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
Zandra The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
OllieSuave-007 The Pink Panther finds a quarter on the street and decides to spend it on a quick lunch. He is torn between the hot dog and the burger, so he decides to flip a coin to help make his decision. However, the coin rolls away and the panther went on one of his longest journeys to retrieve it.From going through buildings to up and down the stairs, and from going inside elevators to going through constructions sites, that quarter does get around and it sends the panther on a hilarious wild chase. The ending was just perfect, and the panther does get a taste of lunch after all! Grade A
ccthemovieman-1 The title makes you think this is a football story, but not so. It's the Pink Panther trying to get his quarter (25 cent-piece) back! Clever, eh? Maybe.Anyway, the cartoon is clever and excellent, a wild trip through the city streets of the big city. It all starts when the PP finds a quarter on the street. He's going to celebrate by buying himself a hot dog. However, on the other side of the street comes the aroma of a sizzling hamburger. That, too, only costs a quarter (is that all they cost in the late '60s?). Unable to decide, our boy flips a coin - that quarter - and if starts rolling everywhere with the Panther in hot pursuit. When I say "everywhere" I mean down lots of streets, subways, through apartment buildings, subways, you name it. Also, the people has has to battle for this quarter as he tries to capture it are wacky and very funny. This is excellent entertainment and one of the better Pink Panther shorts.
Robert Reynolds This is an okay short which starts out interestingly, gets a bit tedious towards the middle and finishes off with a bang. Without the marvelous ending, it would have sunk without a trace. As I intend to discuss some details, this is a spoiler warning: The Pink Panther finds a quarter and sets out to buy something to eat, but can't decide between a hot dog or a hamburger (easy choice, if you know what they put in most hot dogs). As he's deciding, the quarter slips away and he starts after it and so goes the one basic joke of the short-everything which happens ripples out from the chasing of a quarter, like the wake of a pebble tossed in a pond.Parts of this are funny, like the part where a bum sees the quarter roll into one shoe and out the other and join the chase. But a lot of this gets tedious and predictable. The ending of this takes what is, at best, an average short and raises it to the level of good. I won't spoil the ending here, but it is incredibly funny. This short is available on the Pink Panther Classic cartoon Collection and it's well worth a look. The Collection itself is worth getting if you're a fan of the Pink Panther. Recommended.
rbverhoef 'The Pink Quarterback' is a nice and sometimes funny short starring the Pink Panther. He finds a quarter and with that money he can buy a hot dog or a hamburger. He can't make up his mind and before he has bought something he loses the quarter. Basically we see the panther chasing the quarter the entire time.Sometimes it is pretty funny, sometimes it is very predictable. The simple animation does work a couple of times here, especially in a sequence that involves trains. Although most of the Pink Panther shorts are pretty much the same this one feels a little different, probably because of the very funny ending.
