Micransix Crappy film
Robert Joyner The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Abegail Noëlle While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
Leofwine_draca DEVIL FETUS 2: THE RAPE AFTER is a follow up to the icky original, once again telling the story of characters who end up being subjected to supernatural mayhem. Playboy Melvin Wong is the anti-hero of the piece, whose fast living spells disaster for the women he picks up. His handling of a strangely demonic statue leads to an outrageous monster rape scene early on which is undoubtedly inspired by THE ENTITY and has some similar-style FX. Later, there's a fiery accident, a grotesque morgue scene, and a briefly-shot demonic baby that randomly vanishes and doesn't really justify the title. The latter part of the film is dominated by female spirit mayhem and features Buddhist monks battling black magic. The emphasis is unsurprisingly on visceral nastiness, with plenty of rotting bodies, shots of slime and goo, and generally undershot nastiness. I found the production values to be a bit too low and the depicted action a bit too slapdash for this to be fully effective, but Hong Kong horror addicts will get a kick out of it.
HumanoidOfFlesh Tom Lau Moon-tong directs this grim horror film about playboy photographer Mo Hsien-sheng,who while on a shoot steals a grotesque statue from an abandoned temple. That night,he gets drunk with model Shu Ya and the two wind up in the sack, passed out.In the middle of the night,a creature emerges from the statue and rapes the sleeping model. When she wakes up the following morning, she has no memory of the encounter.Later, when she learns that she is pregnant, she has Mo,who has since shacked up with another woman, take her to the abortion clinic.Yet when the procedure is about to take place, the fetus leaps out of the womb and slays the doctor and nurse.Months later, just before Shu Ya is about to give birth, she's killed in a horrible car accident.During the ensuing autopsy, the fetus again leaps out of the womb and runs for the hills.Meanwhile,Mo learns that the statue contains the ashes of a baby whose father killed it in an unlikely cure for asthma."The Rape After" is loaded with plenty of dark and creepy atmosphere of impending doom.It reminds me a little bit "The Beyond" and "City of the Living Dead".The zombies are Fulciesque and the autopsy of the charred corpse of a pregnant Shu Ya will surely give some of you nightmares. Not a great deal of gore, but fans of bizarre HK horror films should be pleased.8 out of 10.
Borispdx Only if you have a horror of boredom does this filmic compost pile qualify as a horror movie. From acting to directing to lighting to pacing to editing to continuity to monster and gore effects, the entire production is an exercise in how not to make a scary film... or a film of any kind.Note to filmmaker: vomit scenes are not a good substitute for a suspenseful storyline and interesting character development. You guessed it folks... lots of spewing in this one.It is clear that the people involved pooled their lunch money on a free weekend to put this mess together. Next time, EAT! Then go bowling.
matt-201 I'm no sissy. I've watched Mario Bava's BEYOND THE DOOR II in a completely dark house. I've endured the most excruciating scenes of CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST without flinching in repeat viewings. THE EXORCIST is downright wussy at this point. But this eighties Hong Kong horror potboiler--a weird blend of HK mayhem and ERASERHEAD--is literally the most disturbing damn movie I've ever laid eyes on. And not because of splatter or anything creep-inducing in a FACES OF DEATH vein. The movie just goes straight to the soft part of the brain marked, "Nightmares you had while three years old." I had to turn the VCR off after twenty minutes, and I still have nightmares about this movie. Anyone who makes it through this picture genuinely gets a toast from me for sheer courage.
