Humaira Grant It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Neive Bellamy Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Kaydan Christian A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
jlinn-41485 Even though I am not a single Mom I could completely relate to this movie. I lived the life of a child raised by a single Mom and now, as an adult, can see my Mom in these ladies. She would have been in there with them, supporting, hands-on, and struggling. I really enjoyed the personalities of these characters and felt like I wanted to know them. The subject matter in the film is serious but the way these women come together and learn from one another is inspiring. It makes me feel happy and hopeful. I hope there truly are women out there that are able to support one another through the trials and hardships, dreams and laughter. This is the first Tyler Perry film I have seen. I will be checking out more of them hoping that they are as heartwarming as this was for me.
leonblackwood Review: I really thought that this was going to be a chick flick about a group of women who are totally against men, but I actually enjoyed the film because of its witty comedy and the interesting characters who all have there own personal problems, being single parents. I had total respect each of the women because they really brought to light, how difficult it is to bring up a child/children, by yourself. Like a lot of Tyler Perry's movie, it does get a bit serious halfway through the movie, when the kid goes missing, and I did think that the film could have done without that added element, but in all, I did find it funny and a joy to watch. The acting from each of the characters was believable and in some parts, quite emotional and it was good to see each of the individuals find there feet by the end. Watchable!Round-Up: My expectations wasn't that high for this film, after reading some bad reviews, but it's written and directed quite well. The somewhat large black lady and the business woman cracked me up, along with Terry Crews, who doesn't mind making a fool out of himself when he's on screen. Nia Long, who starred alongside her real son in the movie, really did bring some emotion to the film along with Amy Smart who played the timid single parent who was going through a difficult divorce. Anyway, the different characters and there completely different situations, keep the movie interesting and enjoyable.Budget: N/A Worldwide Gross: $16millionI recommend this movie to people who are into there emotional comedy/dramas about 5 women who form a single parents club to help them through there tough situations. 5/10
niutta-enrico What's wrong with you guys? A good comedy with a nice story, funny jokes and brilliant performances… how many movies of this kind have been made? Why rate it so low (3,8 at the moment I'm writing)?Well I think that this movie is OK, the girls are sexy (some of them to be precise), males are nice (most of them), kids are small, smart, endearing kids and the overall result is a well written, heartwarming comedy.Don't be fooled by the low rating which I think it's going to get higher. I'd give it a 6,5 but since this is impossible, I'll give it a solid 7, just to start.
patrsyjeanclark This movie was awful. They all talk about the single moms club but they repeatedly complain about the men paying their alimony, child support and talk about getting new men and fixing each other up. A TRUE single mother is one that has no father - no alimony, no child support and the father is gone. As in passed away, in jail or otherwise absent. Not a man who wants to co-parent and contributes financially. These women needed a MAN to help them build their sets for the kids play. This is horrible. It is an insult to REAL single mothers (widows) who have no option to fight and fuss with an ex. How about they do a story about the war widows who are REAL single mothers. Pathetic movie. The only reason I rated a "1" is because there was no option for anything less.
