BootDigest Such a frustrating disappointment
Supelice Dreadfully Boring
Casey Duggan It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny
Sienna-Rose Mclaughlin The movie really just wants to entertain people.
ichocolat The girls were about to get separated during their summer holiday. So they went out shopping for the last time before they all went to their summer holidays, and by chance, they found a pair of jeans that fits them all. And that has never happens before, especially they all have different thigh size. They believe that they found the jeans not by chance, but by a stroke of luck b the Almighty, and they decided that the pants must be shared between them. They made rules (ten rules to be exact), and they were obliged to follow it.So the pant got a different owner every week, and the girl who got the pant must write what they have been through in diaries so that the other know and can share about it too.So all around the world the pant went. From Greece to the boot camp and back again to Greece. And it's surprising how they have so much interesting things that went through, some may be happy moments, whilst some may be unpleasant ones. What I like about his film is that it is original, creative, funny, witty, and seems real. The characters were developed with such ingenuity that viewers feel close to them. The experience may be different, but the essence is the same. We have all felt happy, sad, anxious, crestfallen, deeply in love and all that. It's what the viewers can experienced from this film and these mixtures of feelings and emotions made this film a very good watch. In all, this film is recommended to everyone, as it contains no nudity, no profanity, and the message is good, to cherish the people close to us and to care for our friends.
Kristine The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, what I expected to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen, I couldn't believe it, I'm going to be honest, a hater of chick flicks(I'm a girl by the way), I actually loved this movie. I was so shocked that I actually enjoyed this movie throughly. Scary enough, every girl I could relate too: the Greek boyfriend, the suicidal mother, loosing a close family member to leukemia, and the neglectful father. It was disturbingly psychic to my life, but I think that's why I enjoyed it so much is that this movie wasn't unbelievable in any manner. No, I haven't read the book, not sure if I would read it, but I do know that I would recommend this movie to my friends. It's funny, smart, realistic, cute, and just makes a great story for the harder times of growing up and becoming an adult.Tibby, Carmen, Lena, and Bridget are four friends who have grown up together, they call themselves the sisterhood who have found one pair of jeans that magically fits them all. Tibby spends her summer making a documentary and befriends a sick little girl who shows her that it's OK to care about people. Carmen spends the summer with her dad who has almost "upgraded" with his new marriage and shoving it in Carmen's face. Lena is spending the summer in Greece with her grandparents and has an unexpected forbidden romance with a cute guy. Bridget is going to camp practicing her non stop stardom in sports and chases after a coach which she's not supposed to do. But they mail the pants to each other and write letters in the summer that they have officially grown up.The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was one of those pleasant surprises for me, because even though it is a very girly movie, it's very real and doesn't over do it. We haven't had a good coming of age movie in a while, so this is a perfect film for the family as well as teenagers. Will the guys enjoy this film? Not the action lovers at least, but I'm sure that any film buff could find the true heart of the film and just fall in love with The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, it has good acting, great stories, and makes you remember the scary time of growing up. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is a recommendation for me, this is a non miss movie.8/10
Dingataca I saw this movie mainly out of impulse. I had read the book before and thought it was superbly written with an interesting story. I admit the movie was not as good as the book, but I was very surprised about how much I actually enjoyed the film.4 teenagers and best friends are split up for the summer, all heading in different directions. Carmen (America Ferrera), a 'drama queen', is off to South Carolina to visit her father, who does not live with her, only to get a surprise when she gets there; Bridget (Blake Lively), the sporty one, travels to a soccer camp in Mexico where she meets a guy; Lena (Alexis Bledel), a shy and beautiful girl, is headed for Greece where her grandparents live; and Tibby (Amber Tamblyn), the rebel, is staying at home for the summer, where she becomes friends with Bailey, a 12 year old with leukemia that doesn't leave her alone. Some time before their separation, the friends find a pair of thrift shop jeans, that somehow magically manage to fit them all perfectly despite their completely different sizes, shapes, and builds. The four decide to share these jeans throughout the summer, each one posting it to the next, to somehow keep them together while they are apart. The girls seem to underestimate their magic, because the 'traveling pants' do much more them keep them together; it bears witness to all their difficulties and struggles during the summer and connects them, even though physically they are not together. The four actresses all performed very well, though it is impossible to say which was the strongest performer, as each role was very different. I liked Amber Tamblyn a lot as Tibby though, after reading the book and seeing the film she seems perfect for her role. The little girl playing Bailey was not outstanding but cute enough. And the irritating guy who was Eric, Bridget's love interest, I found, could not act. And not to mention that it looked seriously dodgy, because he looked about 10 years older than her... Carmen's dad and family were adequate, their roles weren't big enough to comment much on. Overall the four protagonists were the stars, each one contributing immensely to the mood and style of the movie. They all shone and deserve full credit for the enjoyable approach and fun-factor in the film. The most impressive thing of the film was how the director Ken Kwapis managed to entwine the four stories together, I found the way the stories were linked to be better than the book in that aspect. I will watch this again, simply because it is great fun.Greatly exceeded my expectations.
Randy Coates I thought this movie was okay and just okay. It wasn't bad, that's not what I'm saying, I'm just saying it wasn't great.I know a lot of people who thought it was great so maybe my opinion is a bit harsh but I would only give this movie a five out of ten score here on IMDb. I thought the best thing about the movie was America Ferrera's (spelling?) performance, I thought she did a good job in her part and I think the people bashing her on the message boards for "how could she fit in those jeans?" are just mean, she's not even that fat to begin with! She was perfect for the part and played it well. The rest of the cast was very good, I just didn't like the story all that much.I hear the book is better so I would give it a read but I would not recommend this movie unless you can borrow it or catch it for free on television sometime.
