Evengyny Thanks for the memories!
Motompa Go in cold, and you're likely to emerge with your blood boiling. This has to be seen to be believed.
Stephanie There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Beulah Bram A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
slake09 This is the kind of movie that you want your friends to see, preferably in your living room after you've ordered the pizza, passed out the beer and possibly broken into the stash. It's a great, fun zombie movie that explores the possibilities of what it would be like to maintain an alternative lifestyle in a world full of zombies.Soundtrack is great, acting is good, plot is excellent: especially so for a straight-to-video feature. I've paid a lot more to see a lot less.If you're into B movies, indie horror, zombie flicks or just movies that are fun in a lighthearted sort of way, you'll like this one.
danthewrestlingmanorigin When I saw several respected horror reviewers claiming they enjoyed this more than 28 Days Later and Shaun Of The Dead, naturally my expectations went way up. Luckily for the filmmakers the hype was genuine, as this is an immensely entertaining film. The gore effects were perfectly executed, and the fight scenes were choreographed in a believable manner. If you have seen the fight scenes in another indie zombie movie called Corpses Are Forever, in which the lead misses the zombie antagonists by a mile on each punch, you can appreciate this films top notch work. The storyline is wonderfully twisted, with some bizarre sexuality, including two very close conjoined sisters, one of whom is more than a little different. The actors all come through, without one poor performance. This is a must see for indie horror fans', and any serious zombie aficionado.
ShimmySnail Now here's a real movie. Believe it or not this movie actually has a better premise and story than almost any zombie film out there of any production value. It's not a horror film, per se, and if you are expecting to be scared like with 28 Days Later, you will be disappointed, but it is a very entertaining comedic drama about a post-zombie-apocalyptic Mexican bad-ass named Matool who is actually happier now that the dead are walking the Earth because bashing them with a combination of kung fu and a solid hammer is the first thing he was ever good at and enjoyed in this world. Matool is shanghaied by a gun toting stranger looking for bedroom fodder for his swinger wife and her freak show sister. Naturally, Matool is eager to please. However, when a trio of wounded soldiers who have been ambushed by a new strain of hyper fast zombie show up at the house, the husband begins to wonder if there are too many roosters in the chicken coop. Tensions rise, zombies attack, alliances shift, but perhaps the ultimate factor is one that the audience has not even considered. The acting is good, especially the main characters, Matool, Nathan, and Mandel. Matool is a likable protagonist, along the lines of a Quentin Tarantino type, perhaps. The tension isn't unbearable, but the unique plot has the audience genuinely interested in what the heck is going on and how it will turn out. The fight scenes are well choreographed and fun, and the dialog is sensible and well spoken. These are not your standard cut and paste horror movie lines. The editing and camera-work are good, and the soundtrack is well matched to the scenes. There are a few rough edges, it is a B movie after all, but not such as you'd expect, these people are actually professionals with no budget. Imagine "From Dusk Till Dawn" but with an original plot.
Argwaan All I can really say about this move is that is was OK. Nothing special, but still watchable. The zombies and gore were pretty well done, but the acting was passable for the most part, but the "story" just didn't work for me, although i liked the "forlorn", apocalyptic atmosphere..An attempt was made at being original by putting a lot of sex in the movie, but it didn't work for me (didn't mind it either).(spoiler) And what was up with the little kid? I love plot twists but this one didn't make any sense at all.. there was absolutely no reason for him to turn against everyone... I would probably have liked the movie a lot better if this was explained somewhere.BUT if you're a zombie fan like me any zombie movie is good enough and this one surely delivers on the gore, the most important part of any zombie movie.Rating: 5/10
