Reviews

Holstra Boring, long, and too preachy.
TrueHello Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
Merolliv I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.
Brooklynn There's a more than satisfactory amount of boom-boom in the movie's trim running time.
Michael_Elliott The Subterranean Stadium (2015) *** 1/2 (out of 4) Director Errol Morris made a string of commercials for ESPN about how far some sport fanatics are willing to go. These commercials were so successful that the company asked him to make a series of short films that take a look at the more comical side of fans.THE SUBTERRANEAN STADIUM takes a look at a group of men who gather together once a week to play electronic football. The documentary starts off talking about what exactly it is and then we begin to hear from the men who play it. Their stories talk about how they got into the sport, why they formed a league in 1981 and why they continue to play it after all these years. The group of guys are called eccentric several times throughout this short but in the end Morris manages to get the point across that these guys just love one another and this sport gives them a chance to see one another. I really thought their story was quite unique and there was just something touching about watching how even though some of their lives haven't gone the greatest, they can still meet up and play this sport.
