Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?

Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

I find it ironic in the extreme that the reason most often given for this pilot not being picked up by the networks is that "it's too similar to Stargate".Have these people forgotten that the original "Time Tunnel" series preceded "Stargate" by some 30 years - so if anything, it should be "Stargate is similar to Time Tunnel".So let's not forget that without Irwin Allen's "Time Tunnel" to provide the inspiration and the basic concept behind it, there would probably never even have been any "Stargate".And speaking personally, I'd take a new series of "Time Tunnel" over the entire "Stargate" franchise any time. There had been rumours of another attempt to relaunch "Time Tunnel" in 2007, but sadly this seems to have come to nothing. A real pity.

I just watched this pilot. I loved it! It reminded me of my childhood. It is the TV series I loved the most when I was a kid. The remake is amazing. Since the movie starts, you are captured by it. It takes you back to a time and place you haven't lived and you feel you're part of the team, you think you're with them, trying to mend the unleashed reaction caused by scientists when they discovered the "hot fusion". You accompany these fellows in this fantastic journey and you enjoy every single minute of it.The characters are credible. The story has some jokes, drama, fantasy. It's just great. When the movie ended I was waiting for more. Unfortunately, new episodes haven't been made yet. I'm pretty sure we'll have them soon. I'm looking forward to it!

It just so happened that I read Arnold's comments as I was watching the first Season of the Time Tunnel (Original Series). He mentioned that the 2002 Pilot was available on the Second Season DVD. Out of curiosity, I got out my second season and played the episode.GREAT SHOW. I really enjoyed the updated concept and am sorry that it never became a series. I also noticed that there may be a 2007 series pilot in the making.I was 7 when the original Time Tunnel aired and was immediately hooked. The concept was original and the stories were interesting. With the lack of good scifi material on television today, I truly hope some TV executive sees these comments and seriously considers bringing back a wonderful series.

Jan 14, 2007The Time Tunnel 2002 Pilot - fantastic The Time Tunnel 2002 Pilot can be found on DVD #4 of the the second season of the original Time Tunnel. This DVD is available from Netflix.com.Remembering The Time Tunnel from my youth I discovered to my great joy that Netflix.com had them for rent. It was a great experience watching the entire series again. I was 4-years-old the first time I saw it. The series made such an impression on me that I remembered it 40 years later. On the last DVD, DVD #4 of season 2 of the original series, I was intrigued by the 2002 pilot for a new Time Tunnel Series. I had never even heard of a pilot for the Time Tunnel coming back. Intrigued I watched it.After watching the 2002 Time Tunnel Pilot I was so impressed that I watched it three more times. This pilot was very well done and I wish that the finance and marketing people had realized what a new huge potential hit they had on their hands. This new Time Tunnel pilot at first glance is a darker version. But after watching it several times it really is not. For me it was an amazing thrill to see an updated Time Tunnel. This new Time Tunnel series has so much potential that I cannot encourage the TV industry enough to make a seven year series run of it.Since Star Trek is no longer running, TV is devoid of good science fiction entertainment. Smallville series excluded.I've stopped getting cable because there is just no good science fiction shows on TV.Instead I've turned to Netflix to satisfy my demand for the great science fiction series of my youth. They include The Time Tunnel (1966), Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1966-1968), Land of the Giants (1968-1969), and The Invaders.I cannot urge the television industry enough to bring back these Irwin TV series in an updated modern form with modern special effects.I absolutely loved the 2002 pilot for The Time Tunnel and I would definitely support a 7 year series run of it sold on DVD/Blue Ray.The same is true for Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Land of the Giants, and the Invaders. I would definitely support a 7 year series sold on DVD/Blue Ray.Why 7-years? This was a standard run for a Star Trek series. It takes time to build an audience.Arnold Veness
