PlatinumRead Just so...so bad
ChicDragon It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.
FirstWitch A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Ariella Broughton It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
anyone Saw it twenty years ago and still one of the best psychological movies ever made. It should be mandatory watching at every school. For those who did not see it yet, it depicts the danger of crowd/group thinking and how really dangerous charismatic people are. They can sway otherwise normally thinking people to their way, without these people being aware of it! Few of famous/infamous very charismatic people are: Barack Hussein Obama, Bill Clinton, Yassir Arafat, Pol Pot, Fidel Castro, Stalin, Hitler, Lenin. Go figure. For those of you, who have it, let me know how did you get hold of it. I'd like to buy it, but it's nowhere to be found.
bacs-1 I watched this movie only once and it has stuck with me since. I have three boys and each one was either told about the movie or watched it. The message this movie sends should be seen by all that attend a High School through-out this World. It should be part of the Social Studies curriculum. The performances by ALL of the actors and actresses was fantastic. I will always tell people about this movie. I have had a chance in the last few months to tell the summary of the story to several people and they said they'd like to see the movie. I can't praise this movie enough and the people who were involved in the production of this film. Letting people know of things like this help all of us to understand how things can happen even without our knowledge.
tmanney "The Wave" is a film that has tremendous classroom value. Since it is based on the Nazi party's recruitment and brainwashing techniques, the film works well for high school classes studying the Second World War. The film also has sociology applications as it demonstrates how organized hatred can impact an entire social institution (in this case, a high school). Furthermore, any unit on racism or discrimination would benefit from "The Wave". I used the film consistently in holocaust units, history courses, and psychology classes. It has always drawn rave reviews (despite its age) from students. However, the film is difficult to acquire and since my copy is aging I am calling for a re-release of "The Wave".
Marko Djordjevic I just watched this in my Social Psychology class and I was impressed even though the film is a bit melo-dramatic. Great if you want to see how easy it is to influence young people, those without friends and to see how easy it was for German's to grow under the influence of Nazi Germany. This kind of thing can happen at any time, and the movie shows just how easy it is.Doing a study for psychology, then this is a good film to watch
