Perry Kate Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
Matcollis This Movie Can Only Be Described With One Word.
Humbersi The first must-see film of the year.
Cody One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.
Joshprc Saw this movie recently through a friend. What I can say about TheCampusHouse.Com is that it is a sort of love letter film to old school slashers of the Halloween days; movies with such iconic horror characters as Jason Voorhees, Freddy Kruger, Michael Myers, all seem to have left their respective marks on the filmmakers, er, in regards to their reception in the movies, of course - not physical marks! What is so charming about CampusHouse is that it is obvious the amount of fun the movie has with itself. From the style, to the story, to the set-up, to the killer, the movie isn't shy about letting on that the filmmakers are True Blue fans of the genre. In a sense, you could say that CampusHouse is not much more than a fan film, though its a solid fan film to be sure. The budget is obviously low, the actors aren't necessarily top notch, and the story becomes fairly predictable, yet therein lies it's charm. You know the film you're getting isn't meant to be something anymore than what it appears to be, which is respectable and helps in allowing you to simply sit back and let the movie speak for itself. Despite some of these drawbacks, the story is interesting enough with a small amount of bloody violence, though if you're a horror fan who loves their gore, CampusHouse is bound to disappoint - the violence takes a more understood approach. In addition, the killer is portrayed fairly well and the atmosphere of intensity indeed becomes palpable as the movie's third act reaches it's climax. The dialogue isn't so bad, and the characters all have their quirks which make them all unique from one another. In all, TheCampusHouse.Com provides, if nothing more, a simple, enjoyable, viewing experience in it's considerably short runtime, for fans of the genre - those with retro sensibilities, especially.
dawnduverger As a lover of the classic slasher flick, I have found myself wanton of late since most modern horror films serve up a steady diet of over the top gore and flashy special effects. So it was great to find this hidden gem which heralded back to the tried and true formula for set up appetizer with out to much dwelling, main course of "We're all gonna die!" in a fairly realistic manner, and then followed up with a twist of "It was who!" for desert. It was over all a fun, and bloody romp through a nineties style slasher flick which gave the fun game of guessing who the killer is with a side course of guessing who is going to die next. If you are a fan of these styled movies you can enjoy the many Easter eggs that lie in the dialog as time and time again references are made to every thing from Scooby Doo to Scream. The camera work was excellent as was the editing which showed good form, though the sound lacked the crisp separation between dialog and back ground that helps put your mind in the action. The plot development was consistent but not obvious, and had some pleasantly surprising twists. TheCampusHouse.com is a movie I would recommend to anyone who wants to have that excuse to cuddle on the couch with some popcorn, a drink, and a lap to jump into.
Les Raub (jackangry1) I was introduced to this film by Lee turner I ran it on my hosted program the angry brothers Omaha shock _o_ rama. The films technical side was done quite well great use of story and special effects. All the cast did excellent Lee turners performance was stand out as drew. I would rank this films as one of the hidden gems of the horror genre. The female lead did an excellent job as well , the scene where the technician gets his head cut off by the killer. Was both frightening and humorous as well. The variety of deaths that the individual cast members were subjected to was varied and original. My only criticism would have been for more nuditity but I have been accused of being a pig, however I respect the directors integrity.
westmainl Saw this film at a film festival at LSU a couple of years back. It was standard slasher film fare, but was put together well with a decent cast. After seeing some other shot on video horror films at Blockbuster, I can definitely say that this film, at least attempted to be original. Also, the villain/killer was well portrayed, along with the leading lady. It probably does not have enough blood and guts for gore fans out there, but for fans of 80s style slashers it does not disappoint. There a few recognizable faces in the cast. Overall not bad for shot on video horror.
