The movie is made so realistic it has a lot of that WoW feeling at the right moments and never tooo over the top. the suspense is done so well and the emotion is felt. Very well put together with the music and all.

Like I said this isn't bad at all, great work from the Apatow family, and surely everyone loves a Paul Rudd film, "slappin' da bass......"
But you know what? Best performance was Albert Brooks as Rudd's Dad, gotta be honest, don't really know him but great in this. I'd say defo worth a watch, 8/10

Seriously, i don't remember a lot of normal or even funny conversations in this movie. actually this movie is NOT a comedy! its a drama movie! all the time people shouting and fighting over stupid things. it was so bad i almost wanted to leave the theatre in the middle of the movie which i usually never do. i don't remember much of the story but at least i remember there wasn't any story worth telling. just a glimpse into the life of a dysfunctional family where everyone is unhappy.

The movie is called this is 40, the people who didn't like this movie are above 30 or beneath 30 ?someone said about making the film 1 hour shorter - as it could be a little shorter but not a hour shorter maybe 20-30 minutes i wonder what is his age.i'm 35 years old and i really enjoyed the movie but the reason that i enjoyed is because i can relate to a lot of things in the movie.i'm not sure that people beneath 30 can relate too much to things in the movie.
and the movie like its name is called "this is 40" and it is exactly what it is.the finance difficulties people are standing with , the "automate" mode that married couples get in.the small lies like paul rudd in the bathroom to take a break from lifethe health examinations that you start like with the breast test or blood testthe difficulty of the whole family as her father with his issues his father with his issues.i think that if you take married people with kids above 30 they will review the movie higher because of all the small stuff - the movie title and movie itself fits about the age 40 of average's joe married couples .

Pete and Debbie seem a very nice couple, with two kids, a big house, expensive cars and gadgets, almost all one could ever dream of. Unfortunately, all of this is as fake as it gets. They are turning 40 and go through a real mid-life crisis. Their kids are fighting, their jobs have lots of issues and their relationship is falling apart, literally. Fights over fights, lies and deceptions. A very hard situation indeed, but if you add up their relationship with others, it's going to be a harsh road up ahead. We watch the development of their life as a family as they're about to turn 40 and how they manage to keep all things running even when all seems lost.It's a good presentation of a couple who's about to encounter a lot more than it ever expected and its struggle for survival. I enjoyed how it was constructed and how the actors played a pretty complex plot but it became sort of monotonous, the same thing being repeated over and over again but in a different way. It lacked a bit of soul also, becoming even boring at times. It seemed superficial and that's not a good thing for this kind of movie. Even the ending, although it was enjoyable, it lacked credibility, something like all that happened before. It's an average movie in my opinion. It had potential but it didn't turn out as expected.
