Kanstancin Karavaj 'This Jolly Planet' is an old Soviet comedy and a good one, too. The plot centres around a group of aliens that decide to explore a new planet with sapient life forms and suddenly get right in the middle of the New Year celebrations in some Soviet town. On this moment science fiction ends and what follows is an enjoyable musical with beautiful songs, many of which remain quite famous up to this day (unlike the movie itself, which somehow is almost forgotten). If you grow tired of 'The Irony of Fate' or 'The Sorcerers' give this flick a try.
