The film was still a fun one that will make you laugh and have you leaving the theater feeling like you just stole something valuable and got away with it.

When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

I remember watching "Timecop" a long, long time ago when it came out and watched it on VHS.Then I stumbled upon it while browsing through the Netflix archive, so I decided to sit down and watch it again. And it turned out that this old Jean Claude Van Damme movie was actually as good and entertaining as I remembered it to be.This is indeed a traditional Van Damme movie in every sense, and it is a very stereotypical early 1990s action movie for better or worse. There was a good combination of action story and martial arts in the movie. And with this being a Van Damme movie, then of course there is a good amount of those ingredients. The storyline is generic, of course, as one would expect from a movie such as this. And it follows that stereotypical formula that made up the entirety of the action movies from the 1990s. You know the outcome of the movie before you even press the play button. If you enjoy the wonderful 1990s action movies and/or being a fan of Jean Claude Van Damme, then "Timecop" is definitely a movie well worth sitting down to watch.

This movie is a missed oportunity for JCVD to have a franchise since this movie succeded alot and if he wasnt doing other roles that ruined his career and wasnt on drugs at the time then this could have been his terminator anyway this movie can be a letdown and doesnt make sense but it was kind of entertaining and acting was decent ofc jcvd was decent since he was improving as an actor and obviously it can be directors fault for jcvd being bad alot of times like in Hard Target or Bloodsport but some movies like lionheart and nowhere to run and jcvd and alot of recent movies have good to decent acting.
Plot doesnt make sense ofc i dont want to talk about it since i dont like spoiling movies.
Everything was decent but some special effects looked nice and can still hold up.Decent

Oh my god there's some miserable people rating stuff these days. I understand not everyone likes the same things but every movie I watch with a low rating some actually turn out to be great.

When time travel was developed by a scientist in 1994, there was the need to create the Time Enforcement Commision (TEC) under the control of Senator Aaron McComb (Ron Silver) to protect the past from modifications. The police office Max Walker (Jean-Claude Van Damme) is invited to join the TEC, and when his wife Melissa (Mia Sara) is murdered by strangers, he accepts the invitation to work under the command of Eugene Matuzak (Bruce McGill). In 2004, Walker is assigned to capture his former partner Lyle Atwood (Jason Schombing) that is manipulating the stock market in 1929. Atwood tells that he is working for Senator McComb, who is a powerful politician that is running for president. Atwood prefers to die and does not confess that McComb is a criminal. Now Max knows the truth but McComb is changing the past and Max does not know how stop him."Timecop" is a highly entertaining film, despite the clichés and the inconsistencies. Most of the scenes are written to explore Van Damme´s skill with fights. Ron Silver performs his usual villain roleand is very effective. But better of turn your brain off and enjoy "Timecop". My vote is six.Title (Brazil): "Timecop - O Guardião do Tempo" ("Timecop - The Guardian of Time")
